About Emmett
Emmet was recently found by an Uber driver several weeks ago, roaming the streets, and was luckily captured and taken to Emergency Vet Hospital (Wangara). The lovely staff took care of him for 5 weeks whilst they patiently waited for a spot to become available in our care. This is where Emmett's sad story ends and his new life begins with us @ Lost Souls Rabbit Refuge!
Emmett isn't your average run-of-the-mill dwarf lop! He is definitely crossed with a larger breed so is on the larger size scale of the dwarf lop breed. He knows what he likes and doesn't like, loves to explore, will tolerate being handled, must know what you're doing every time you walk past his pen and LOVES to flop out on the tiles...splooting! This just adds to his enormous personality. It's very hard not to have a smile on your face when you look at him, he is just so handsome! He has such a gentle soul, big personality and at times he can be quirky/dorky and ridiculous (in a good way) too. He is fine with being brushed and isn't fussed with having his nails clipped either. He has a short cinnamon coat with darker grey/brown markings - Easy care with a weekly brush and 2-3 times a week when he is going through a heavy moult.
Food, food, and more food! Emmett is a hay (oaten) machine, the more the better! In his short time with us, we have been experimenting with different fruit and vegetables which Emmett has enjoyed. We are transitioning Emmett onto Science Selective which he is gradually taking a liking to! He does love his slice of apple and carrot nose treats!
Emmett is approximately 18 months old and has been desexed, vaccinated, and microchipped recently.
Emmett could potentially be bonded to a similar age desexed female or I have no doubt he would LOVE to be a single spoilt bun too where he is the centre of attention 24/7! We are looking for a lovely forever home for Emmett and know the right person or family is out there for him! Ideally, we would be looking for a person or family where Emmett would be indoors (pen setup) with plenty of supervised outdoor time and generally be a part of everyday living.
Emmett's adoption fee is $185 which includes his desexing, vaccination, and microchip.
Medical notes
Emmett has been thoroughly vet checked by The Unusual Pet Vets. No medical concerns were noted.
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view our beautiful rabbits. We love them all and know you will too!
If you would like to know more about our rescue, the rabbits we have in care or if you are considering adopting one of our precious bunnies - Please contact us via phone or email. After our chat, if it sounds like you might have a suitable home we will email you through a application form to fill in (step 1).
Once we have received your forms, we will then arrange a time for you to meet our rescue rabbit/rabbits (step 2). On occasions (at our discretion) we may organise a house check to ensure that your indoor rabbit setup is safe, secure and in the long term the rabbit will be happy! An adoption fee is paid if you decide you would like to take the rabbit on trial, this is held with us whilst the rabbit is on trial in your home. The trial period is for 2 weeks but this is flexible (step 3). If anytime during the trial you are certain your new family member is going to stay, the decision is made final and we process the adoption and change the microchip details - This makes the adoption official! (step 4). On the other hand, if you have a change of mind or circumstance we ask you to contact us as soon as possible so we can make immediate arrangements for their return to the rescue, the adoption fee is refundable within the trial period.
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
