About Ares- Dingo Cattle Dog Mix
Hi my name is Ares and something tells me we're going to be best mates! I'm a big goofy puppy who loves people and other dogs. I'm a fan of pats and belly rubs!
I can sit and shake, I walk well on the lead though I do pull a bit when I'm excited. I also know how to jog along next you if you if you're the kind of person who enjoys a morning run.
I'm house-trained/toilet trained and used to sleeping indoors. I'd love to curl up at the end of your bed or I could sleep on the floor on my own bed. I could also sleep outside if you'd prefer (in a nice warm kennel). I don't typically chew things and sleep through the night.
I'm great in the car, I can ride in a crate or on the backseat.
All I want in life is a human friend to cuddle with and someone who loves to run like me (maybe a dog friend?)! I would make an excellent jogging partner or maybe if you're a tradie I could come with you on the job and hang out! I like to keep active and busy, after all I'm a big puppy.
Kongs filled with food are my favorite along with other toys like tug toys, squeaky toys and Frisbees.
I love other dogs and would love a medium or large dog friend at my new home, but I'm not the type of dog that can be taken to a dog park (I might be to rough with the small dogs). Why don't we go bushwalking or to the beach instead?
I am a big and boisterous boy so I'd prefer not to live with small dogs (under 10kg) or small kids (under 10yo), but teenagers are great!
I have experience with house training/toilet training from my first home, and I never do my business in the car or house.
Are you my forever home? You'll need 1.8m secure fencing OR a dog enclosure and a pet-friendly lease, but that seems like a small ask for all the love and loyalty I have to give.
Note: dingoes are not suitable to live with cats, birds, livestock or other small animals/pocket pets unless kept entirely separate.
Animal rescue is considered essential. SFDR can still come to you for meet and greets, yard checks and animal adoptions. We have volunteers in Canberra and New South Wales and can come to you even if you we are not in your local government area. Distance is not an issue when we are looking for the perfect homes for our dingoes. Please note we have COVID safety measures in place.
Adoption details
Please note at this time pending legal advice we are unable to offer fox kit adoption to private owners.
Dingo Adoption:
1. Send an email inquiry with your name and contact details outlining your current living situation, pets and family members and anything else you think might be relevant, particularly what your house and yard are like. Remember our dingoes typically require an enclosure or modified fencing.
2. We will email you back adoption information and an application form to fill out and return to us.
3. If your application is approved- Come along to meet us and our dingoes at our Goulburn shelter or their foster carers' home and let us find the right furry family member for you. We can also come to you. We are happy to meet new prospective owners anywhere in NSW or the ACT.
4. Before you can pick up your new dingo you will also need to under a house/yard check and pay your adoption fee. No animals are rehomed unless their adoption fee is paid in full and a yard check has been completed.
