About Bandit
PURRSONALITY TRAITS
We are two sweet 6 year old boys who at Cat Haven because sadly, our owner passed away.
BANDIT: I was a bit unsure when I arrived at our foster home because of all the new surroundings and straight away I found a safe spot up high on a shelving unit which I managed to climb up to. I was happy up there looking down on my new location but I came down for dinner. I'm still getting used to my surroundings and at the moment love being in my own little hiding spot but being up high makes me feel like I'm on guard watching the world. I prefer to be kept indoors with my brother Romeo.
I love being picked up for cuddles and will snuggle on your lap for a short time but give me time and I will get used to it.. If you lie on the ground and call "puss puss puss" I can't stop myself to come over for head rubs and if Romeo is getting attention, I have to run over and join in hahah.
ROMEO: I arrived at my foster home and straight away found a lovely safe spot under the kitchen table which is now one of my favourite spots in the house as I'm able to watch everything going on around me, but I do venture around the house.
Because I have recently had the tips of my ears amputated due to skin cancer, I must be kept indoors away from direct sun. I feel I am very unique and even more good looking with my pure white long fur and my loving green eyes. I love having my fur brushed and at the moment I am a bit unsure about being picked up but don't let that stop you giving me head rubs and pats until I get used to you.
We both love eating and our foster carers say that we are no trouble at all and will make purr-fect pets when we find our forever home together. Come visit us at our new foster home in Spearwood.
Health Issues
Bandit & Romeo both have a heart murmur. The murmur has been assessed by Cat Haven veterinary staff as mild (grade three or less) and not likely to cause any adverse effects on their health.
Bandit & Romeo both have a skin condition which has caused severe hair loss and itching in the past. There are a number of different things that can cause this condition, and it can be difficult to determine the underlying cause without specialists testing and trials. It is not known what causes their skin reaction, therefore it is important that you use a variety of preventative measures.
Romeo has had significant treatment to remove or prevent a serious type of skin cancer called squamous cell carcinoma. This type of cancer often occurs on the tips or the ears or on the nose and is why his ear flaps (or pinna) have been amputated. Nose biopsy was also done which ruled out cancer in this location. This type of skin cancer arises after excessive exposure to the sun, and therefore to reduce his risk of repeat surgery or worsening disease we recommend that he is kept indoors only and sun exposure is limited as much as possible.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
