About Lucy
PURRSONALITY TRAITS
Dora Dora (1 year-old tabby) and her 8 month-old daughter Lucy must be adopted together. They have only been in their new foster home for a few days and have already settled in. They need to be adopted to a single-cat household and stay indoors due to their feline coronavirus background - see below!
Here is an update from their foster carer:
"The girls have settled in like ducks to water. They are very friendly and affectionate. My son popped over to see them and they were straight at him wanting a fuss.
Dora talks all the time, she doesn't stop. It's super cute. She is also a big purr cat. She purrs lots and loud. She is very inquisitive. She goes crazy for cat treats and licks me and taps me with her paw. She is very clever.
Lucy is into everything. She is a real toddler. She has already had a plant over, spotted the fish auarian and does not sit down for long. I'm teaching her she isn't allowed to jump on the kitchen tops, but she pretty much ignores me lol. She is eating well too. I've not got her purring much yet but she is affectionate, however you have to initiate it whereas Dora comes and asks for it. Both meow for one another if they are in different rooms which is very sweet.
They are eating very well, using their litter box, love playing with toys. They love being out in the main house with me and my resident cat, Fluff. They go into their room for time out and they sleep the night in there.
Both love their water fountain and used it straight away. Both like being picked up and cuddled. Both don't seem too worried when I have the stick vacuum out. Both aren't bothered about my dog and they all live fine together."
You can meet this adorable pair at their foster home in Alkimos.
Health Issues
Dora & Lucy are both suspected of having a condition called Juvenile Gingivitis. This means inflammation of the gums which is painful, and can lead to infections and more severe dental disease. Many cats will grow out of this issue before approximately 2 years of age, however some will have the condition for life.
Dora & Lucy have been exposed to Feline Coronovirus (FCoV) and has positive titres for this virus. Due to the virus being highly contagious, to limit the spread it is important that these cats remain in a single-cat household, and should be kept indoors. FCoV is spread to other cats via the faecal-oral route. It is important to note that Feline Coronavirus is NOT the same as the human Coronavirus. This virus has been prevalent within cats for many decades and is NOT transmissible to humans.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
