About Oscar (40kg)
Meet our gorgeous sweet and sensitive Oscar
His the guy you know your parents want you to marry.
He is by far one of the most, kind, sweet, loving and loyal dogs we have had the pleasure to help find a forever home
Oscar is a gentleman. He is what we consider pretty well behaved. He sits quietly in the house, lays on his bed infront of the fire, enjoys watching you make dinner, a ride in the car and enjoys a evening stroll around the block or a saturday getting a coffee in the main street.
Oscar is a home body and much prefers the company of the humans that live in his home. But will happily meet people with a small sniff and gentle tail wag when out and about. He currently lives in a multi dog home with 13 others and gets along fantastically with all. Oscar however enjoys his small group of friends to nap and co exist with but is not the type of dog to play with other dogs and wouldn't enjoy the mayhem of a saturday filled dog park. He can become overwhelmed with boisterous dogs and enjoys the freedom of the off lead dog park in very very very quiet times with his few respectful friends. If you are looking for a social butterfly that wants to make friends with everyone Oscar is not the dog for you. If your keen to read a book on a park bench while allowing him to take in the scenery, you would get along just great.
Oscar can be fearful of new men but quickly warms up when given his own time. He was surrendered from a rural town on the victorian border and has not lived in the very built up suburbs for this reason a quieter town would best suit him. Oscar is a fantastic guard dog and although if you said boo he would probably run the other way, his bark is enough to scar the pants off anyone. He is relatively lazy and although enjoys a walk spends most of his day lazing around. While he wouldn't suit a courtyard or apartment he doesn't need a huge yard.
Oscar is toilet trained, crate trained, is gentle, can sit, drop, wait, has a reasonably good recall and is an all round beautiful dog to have around. Oscar is not suited to a home with cats, he would enjoy his humans around more often than not and would love if he could go to work or have his humans work from home. we do however know this isn't always realistic and he does do just fine at the moment with foster parents who work full time. He would suit a home with no children or dog respectful children over 12.
Oscar is a sensitive boy and really enjoys a set routine, he likes to have all his ducks in a row and loves familiarity in his world. For this reason a change in home will be stressful for him. we need a beautiful, patient and kind home to put their hand up to take on this wonderful dog and be prepared that the first few weeks may not be easy but in the long run it will be worth it. If you lack patience, empathy and are dominant or firm character Oscar would not be suited. He needs someone willing to just take it slow and understand he will need time to adjust to his new normal. He is loving and affectionate and really loves his humans when he knows you.
Oscar really is a beautiful and loyal to the core dog when he gets to know you, he just needs someone wonderful to take a chance on him. If you think you can do that please send a brief description of the home you can provide and we will send you an adoption application form. He is currently located in whittlesea.

Adoption details
Our adoption process has 5 stages -
#1 A brief description of your home-
We ask that you send an inquiry with a brief description of the home that you can provide and why you think your home is suitable for the animal you are inquiring about.
Please note: if you do not send a brief description of the home that you can provide we will not continue with the adoption process
#2 Some questions-
You will receive an adoption application form within 24 hours of your inquiry being sent
#3 Photo's of your yard - Applicable for dogs only -
Please provide photos of your yard including sheltered area from sun and rain
#4 Meet & greet - With other dog/s if you have any -
You will receive an email within 72 hours of sending your application in which will let you know if your application has been successful. We will then organise a meet and greet.
*PLEASE NOTE*: Not all applications are successful. We aim to match our animals to their perfect homes, sometimes there are many homes suitable but unfortunately only one animal.
Organized MEET AND GREETS do not guarantee the adoption of our of our animals. Eden Ark have the final say in the meet and greet process, If we feel our animal will not suit your family the trial period will not go ahead.
#5 A 7 day trial period -
If your meet is successful we ask that you have everything ready to take your new family member home that day. if this isn't possible, prior arrangement MUST be made - please understand we are not in a position to hold animals for you. Meet and greets are on weekends only, unless prior arrangement has been made. Please note your meet and greet will be organised the first weekend available from an approved application, we try our best to accomodate but again we can not hold animals.
Adoption fee must be paid in cash on the day if your meet and greet is successful to start your 7 day trial period.
Once your 7 day trial period is complete,
Welcome to the Eden Ark Family!
