About Winston
Winston is a very sweet affectionate staffy. He is vision impaired. The eye specialist said he has PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). It is at an advanced stage so he only sees a bit in bright sunlight.
Winston is very dog social. He enjoys running around his home and garden but is not a fan of walking on lead in open spaces, though he loves car rides. He prefers to have people around him a lot of the time. He is such a sweet easy dog. He would be best in a home with another playful dog who can be his eyes.
He has a smooth coat and overweight at close to 30kg.
Suit Home Based Worker or Doggie Pal: Unable to cope alone and has shown signs of separation anxiety. Needs human company or other dog pals.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE:
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitation, with an in depth understanding of and experience in building relationships with these kinds of dogs.
SPECIAL NEEDS
All dogs need loving attention but some rescue dogs require extra special help. They are looking for dedicated families who can commit themselves to a greater investment in their long term health. DoggieRescue is looking for Special People. Please consider opening your heart and home to one of these special dogs.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Winston is a very sweet but worried boy who has not experienced much outside his backyard in his former life. We soon figured out he cannot see much. The eye specialist said he has PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy), common in Poodles but not staffies.
It is at an advanced stage so he only sees a bit in bright sunlight. He is such a sweet easy dog.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
