About Sammy
🐾🌹 SAMMY 🌹🐾
Our handsome boy, Sammy, is officially ready to find his furever home 😍
Sammy is a very sweet boy who no one could figure out how he ended up on deathrow in a rural pound 😭 he was clearly well fed (bit on the chubby side), he knew all his basic training, and just loved being around humans 💕 Whatever caused him to end up there, we are kind of glad he did as it meant we had the privilege of getting to know him 🥰
This gorgeous boy came to us with a hole in his face basically, where an eye was meant to be there wasn't one :O after seeing our Vet it was determined that it was an under developed eye that was a birth defect. Apparently it can be common in the Australian Shepherds. We swiftly booked him in for surgery to have the eye removed and closed up, also to have his hind dew claws removed due to them constantly catching on things which can cause tears and infections.
Not long after Sammy settled in we could quickly see that this boy had some anxiety, however after an adjustment period and some confidence building he settled down 😊
Sammy is great with other dogs, however can sometimes become dominant during play. So is best suited to living with a submissive dog 😊 because of this he also would not be suited to attending dog parks.
This gorgeous boy loves his humans, he is very affectionate and wants nothing but to please 💕 He is very clever, willing to learn new tricks! Sammy is a high energy breed, and so would do well with an active family willing to take him on adventures to explore this awesome world we live in 🌏
Sammy will need a family who are home more often than not due to his slight anxiety, he will do better in a home with another dog 😊 and although he is great with kids, he can be quite nippy when excited, so kids under 12 won't be ideal for Sammy to live with.
All this boy wants is to be loved 🥰 we know there is a family out there that can do that.
If you would like to meet Sammy, please message for an application 💝
Medical notes
Has slight anxiety when settling in.
Might have possible hearing loss, however nothing to the extent that it affects his ability to live.
His one eye is good and nothing wrong with it.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST NOT be taken on the day unless PRIOR APPROVAL seeked, we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 14 day settling in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
6. All animals for adoption are kept up to date with vet work until date of adoption. Inclusive of vaccinations, monthly worming and flea treatment. New owners are responsible for keeping preventatives current.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your email within 72 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
