This big guy is just such a sweet, calm guy, not a mean bone in his body. He's very quiet, great with all dogs big and small, ignores cats, just wants to be part of the family. He's very laid back, not much into playing but does enjoy some loving and is happiest sitting near you or getting a pat. Not fazed by storms or fireworks.
Phillip found himself at the vets needing very expensive surgery: femoral head ostectomy. A huge thank you to The Ark Animal Hospital for sponsoring this surgery and taking him for his after care, you guys are amazing!! His arthritic hip joint was removed and now the joint is controlled by his muscle.
His quality and longevity of life is good he just needs to keep up good muscle mass, nothing crazy but stay relatively active with walks. Notes from his vet "Once he's recovered there's not much more too it and no risk of further complications really. He does have a little arthritis in his elbows too but with cartrophen injections and 4cyte/fish oil added to his dinner that should really slow it down and will unlikely be an issue, will definitely still be able to live a happy comfortable life, just won't be an agility competitor or anything ??" There's a link below for further information.
