UPDATE: Freddie has been to Bear the Dog Behaviorist for a week's training. He has been learning that the world is not such a scary place, other dogs are great, and to walk on lead.
He's an affectionate boy who does NOT jump on people. He is cautious, if not shy of other dogs, but would like a playmate who is calm. He's definitely coming out of his shell and likes meeting other dogs.
He's a cuddle boy, loves to be on the lounge with you, but can also show his Shar Pei side and sit by himself.
Over 7 years dogs have come and gone in my home, I must admit Freddie is a special boy. Through his intelligence he will check with you if something is ok. He'll look over to ask if he can say Hi to someone, or if he can walk ahead, but still look back at you to see if you're following.
From the nervous boy that came to me weeks ago, I can honestly say he's a different boy now. Loving and actually does like affection. I thought at first he didn't like it but I see now he actually does.
Freddie was raised with 2 children who are now 7 and 10 and Freddie is 4. So I think he would like a home with children of a school age.
I have seen and worked with many many dogs and I can tell very quickly that Freddie is an Intelligent Boy. He understands what you're saying and HE LISTENS. It's the number 1 complaint of many owners that their dog doesn't listen. Freddie wants to please and will follow your instructions.
He's friendly to people, but may need a little time to get to know some people.
Being a Shar Pei x he's a bigger boy, not heavy like a Staffy, he's tall, long in the body and slim.
I believe Freddie would love a friend to play with, as long as they are on the calmer side and tolerant, he may do some humping.
We are currently working with a dog trainer on his manners meeting smaller dogs and to stop him pulling. He's lost some of his training after leaving his family, he is nervous when out walking. Instructions can be provided and demonstrated how to help Freddie with this.
He loves his walks and going out. Loves the car and going to wide open spaces.
He does however have a fear of storms and needs to be contained during storms. High fencing or at-home-work is HIGHLY DESIRABLE advantageous.
Freddie lived with another dog and was home all day with his friend, while his owners went to work.
No cats, NO pocket pets.

Freddie has no medical issues. He does take an anti-anxiety medication 'if' a storm is coming.
