About Ryche
RYCHE
Siberian Husky
Male (D)
4 Years Old
Located : Bexley North, NSW
If you know Marshall from Paw Patrol you'll know he's a bit goofy, clumsy and at times possibly annoying but generally really cute and lovely. If you'd like one of those in your life then I just may resemble him!
Mentally on par with that of an endearing young pup in an older bear's body, it's highly doubtful my past life featured too highly in what you humans term "life experience". Overly stimulated at times with such adventure I've been known to make you work for my compliance. As the days go by I am improving, you're building up your core muscles, but yes I do have some ways to go.
Particularly when introducing myself to new dogs on lead. The humans have developed a system that works for me, which my new family will be expected to follow. Don't stress, it's not that difficult and does result in a pleasant experience for all.
Off lead with my fellow kind my overtures are nothing but friendly. When there's more than one dog in the mix I present a bit shy, submissive even, when it comes to full on shenanigans. One on one? Feel free to add King of The Bitey Face to my list of achievements. I do lose focus when there's too much environmental stimulation and whilst I will likely never be a true "dog park" type of guy, I would dearly love to visit with a select group of friends for tea and crumpets on a regular basis.
Upon introduction to new humans they believe my piercing stare translates to aloofness, perhaps elements of standoffish behaviour. My secret? I'm too tactile and affectionate to deny all the pleasure of my true goofball self for long.
Within my immediate family I will choose one to get closer to than a tattoo, yet fickle enough to take the loving from whoever's around. Become lax in your duties as Attache to The Department of The Ryche my gentle nips will be there to remind you of your manners. Followed by a head in your lap or a paw in yours, for however long I see fit. I feel no shame in shoving a dog or two out of the way to receive these dues, either. Oops. Sorry. Not.
With basic obedience manners reinforced by a young primary school aged child on a daily basis, I come to you with "sit", "drop", "stay" and "come". Within the home I give myself a 10/10.... outside of it? Well, it's not my fault the great outdoors proves too stimulating, right? But hey at least I sit at the curb before we cross the road now. You're welcome.
My home is my domain, with my humans and foster furbro front and centre. The bird is still on the outer, but at least I no longer actively try to score me some fresh lunch. Therefore it goes without saying that I prefer my playtime takes place indoors. Which usually results in the humans kicking me outside. After I've dealt with the indignity and backchatter of the woe-is-me's, I settle down for a nice snooze reminiscent of the dearly departed.
Moving forward I am in search of an active family who will truly include me, not just have me there to complete some picture-perfect Norman Rockwell scene. Knowing that the humans cannot be with me 24/7 it would be preferable there be another friendly canine friend for when we're home alone but if I'm to be your solo I'll be looking for an exceptional environment in which to spread my glitter.

MEDICAL NOTES
Ryche came into care with a condition known as "intussusception" where essentially his intestines had sleeved into one another. This condition generally occurs in dogs under 12 months of age and with Ryche's being so advanced the true miracle is that he was still with us. This is something a vet could easily miss so he is a very lucky boy that it was expertly diagnosed so quickly and successfully operated on.
Moving forward there will be some restrictions diet wise, namely no bones under any circumstance. Through elimination diets we know chicken is off the menu in all forms, and he can tolerate salmon in dry kibble only (not fresh). Changing his protein source abruptly will result in several days of watery stools.
You are encouraged to do your own research and ABR will make our vet available to address any concerns if required.
