About Pav *On Adoption Trial ♥
Look at his pic - yeah I know, it looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth! However ....
Pav (or Pavlich; his original name), has lived with me for nearly a year now due to personal circumstances which are no fault of his own. Now it's time he be listed to find his forever home.
He is truly a delightful cat and a little naughty as are all big personalities - he sometimes steals food though he now knows it's forbidden, but his main issue here is that one of my own cats HATES him and they've begun to have loud paw-swipe fights. My girl announces herself by hissing & growling when he gets close & Pav thinks that's a lot of fun so begins to stalk her and so on & on & it's getting worse as the weeks pass. There is no problem with the many other cats here - he fitted right in from Day 1 - and he's very happy to meet any human.
Pav grew up with children and dogs and had a great relationship with the smaller dog (which is why he plays so roughly & doesn't care about a cat growling at him). My own dogs (a large & a small) are a little intimidated by him but I think only because he's at the centre of so much noisy battle!
Pav is a lap cat most evenings and is forever up for snuggles, petting, and any kind of attention. He's keen to grab a good spot at bedtime, snuggling against any part of your body he fits into. He never bites or scratches so is safe for children over toddler age. He is honestly so much fun and very outgoing and would make a wonderful companion for people who are home a lot or who have other pets he will get on with.
Since he's been fed within a community group he is overweight so you will need to feed a reduction diet with no treats.
You will need to feed him the same or similar high-quality diet he's been on since he's been here.
For his safety and your own peace of mind, Pav must be an indoor-only cat, although a secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for him. But an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers & plenty of toys), some good window seats & views of outside with a screen door or window to look through & sniff the breeze, and lots of attention should be adequate. It might be that Pav would be fine without any pets in the house as long as he gets human family attention but he would particularly like to have a confident feline or canine friend.
Located in Yanchep.
Medical notes
Pav has no medical issues at all. He's wormed regularly and occasionally flea-treated in case the dogs bring any in. He is microchipped and sterilised and will have a vaccination booster before adoption.
All the cats here are on a high-quality diet consisting of half raw and half quality canned food with some kibble. Owing to his being overweight Pav will not be needing any kibble at all once he moves.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing partially covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparent that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforeseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
