About Digger
๐๐ DIGGER ๐๐
Introducing the oh so handsome, Digger! Our approx 8yr old Rottweiler X Labrador! ๐น
Digger came to us back in June 2019 with his girlfriend, Honey, and their 4 puppies ๐ they all found themselves in the pound and needing Rescue asap.. we couldnt say no ๐ฅฐ
This gorgeous boy had some skin issues related to allergies and required eye surgery, his eye lids rolled inwards causing his eye lashes to rub against and scratch his eyes :( so he constantly had eye infections and was clearly bothered by them. He finally received his much needed surgery and recovered well ๐ฅฐ๐
He was then adopted, however his adopter didnt take Digger's requirements seriously or read his file about his needs. So it didnt work out and Digger came back to us :( sadly he came back to us in awful condition again. His skin allergy had flared up again, his ears filled with fluid (allergy related), he had more callouses needing attention. And the poor boy had an ear infection left untreated. However like before, his amazing foster family and our vet had him back to good health again ๐๐ฅฐ However he had some confidence issues and would cower from certain situations. He has been working on this and now realises he is back in safe and loving hands ๐ he is now ready to live out his years with a loving family willing to provide him with good food that doesnt flare his allergies, willing to understand that he isnt a dog that you take to dog parks/beaches etc.. that he is more of a homebody who just enjoys a walk every now and again. And who understand that tennis balls are EVERYTHING!
Digger is in a permanent state of happy ๐๐ its like he is a puppy in an adults body! He is just lovable, cruisey, easy going and HAPPY ๐ฅฐ
He is also super patient, he is amazing with kids of all ages ๐ Digger is no good with cats, and after all he has been through he prefers to be an only dog ๐ He will do better in a home without other dogs, where he can be the centre of his families' world.
Digger is a well mannered and well trained boy, he knows all of his basic commands. He is still working on walking nicely on the lead, but he is learning ๐ฅฐ he has been introduced to a halti, and walks much better on this!
Oh did we mention, this guy loooooves playing fetch!! He will play fetch with anyone thats willing! He loves all sorts of balls/toys, if he can play fetch with you, he is one happy fella!
If you would like to meet Digger, please message for an application ๐
Medical notes
Skin allergies, controlled with diet. Would benefit from being on a joint supplement like Antinol or 4Cyte to assist his joints with aging.
UNSUITABLE for dog parks and dog beaches etc..
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption application MUST be filled out prior to the meet and greet with the animal.
2. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place. You must bring your current dog along to the meet and greet if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption. If meeting a cat we do not recommend brining your current dog/cat as this may stress the cat/kitten out.
3. The animal MUST not be taken on the day unless PRIOR ARRANGED (travelling over a 2 hr round trip), we will NOT ACCEPT the animal to be taken on the day if less then 2 days notice is given. If prior arrangement is made, an adoption agreement/s and payment must be made before collection of the animal.
4. 7 day settling in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster carer.
5. Adoption is finalised after 14 days and paperwork is sent via email.
6. All animals for adoption are kept up to date with vet work until date of adoption. Inclusive of vaccinations, monthly worming and flea treatment. New owners are responsible for keeping preventatives current.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your email within 24 hours. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: WE CAN NOT HOLD ANY ANIMALS SO PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT NOW
