About Archie
This is Archie! An excellent family dog.
This handsome boy can be shy at first but will warm quickly and once you have earned his trust he will look at you with those soft Labrador eyes that will melt your heart. He has lived with children and is incredibly patient and gentle with them.
Like most dogs Archie enjoys an active lifestyle and company. He needs to be housed with another confident companion dog, he loves to play!
After a good walk and play Archie loves nothing more then to snuggle down in his bed and has been known to put himself to bed at 7pm and not make a sound again until 7am. He loves his indoor comforts and human company so really needs to be an indoor dog.
He is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a lead. He is a smart dog that would be very rewarding to an owner who is keen to get to obedience training.
Archie will need a good sized, well fenced yard as he finds kangaroos just too appealing and really wants to have a good run with them. When he sees livestock he does forget his manners and training so he needs to be housed away from chickens etc.
Archie has a beautiful sleek black coat that does best with premium food, some cheaper foods can make him a little itchy.
If he goes for a very long run he can become slightly lame in his foreleg, this resolves quickly. He has been x rayed and nothing has been found at this stage.
Archie is currently on “Lovan” tablets (anxiety medication) once a Day to assist with crate training, he has done so well it is thought that when he is settled in his new home he could be weaned off the medication.
