About Leeroy
**CAT TOLERANT - INDOOR & undergoing outdoor testing now... Looking good.**
**Also undergoing chicken testing**
Leeroy is a beautiful soul... He is calm and like a shadow. He will follow us around and lay down near your feet, wherever that may be. He does like to play sometimes as well & balls are one of his favourite toys. Also, anything squeaky is very fun!
Leeroy has been with us for quite a while, due to a difficult desexing procedure. He needed to stay with us & undergo further testing to confirm he was properly desexed after only 1 testicle was locatable. He is now ready to find his new home.
He is good with other dogs his size, but is a bit wary of dogs bigger than he is (like Great Danes)… We have a playful Great Dane who visits and he worries Leeroy a bit. Leeroy has had some testing with smaller dogs & has been friendly with any dog he meets, as long as they are nice to him.
He is indoor cat tolerant & has gone onto another foster home to start training with an outdoor cat. He has been in the new foster home for a couple of days and already is showing little interest in the cat indoors or outdoors. Frankie (cat) is a little wary of newcomers to the house, so she will take a few days to push her boundaries with Leeroy, so we will give them a few more days before we decide if he is outdoor cat tolerant
This beautiful boy has learnt to sit!!! With some prompting, patience and a treat, Leeroy will sit for you almost every time... Leeroy has just finished his second stay with Stacey for a cat refresher course and this time, he has learnt to drop as well!!!
Leeroy has had some off lead time with the neighbours free-range chickens (an escape, when his foster mum left the front door open) & he didn't worry about them at all... But the rooster was scary! Once he has had his outdoor cat tolerance confirmed, we will continue chicken testing as well.

We will require a return contact email/ phone number to discuss with you the options of adopting or fostering a Greyhound.
You will need to complete an application form, then a home visit will be conducted to meet the family and any other pets you may have. We will match you with a hound we think is suitable (or check the suitability of a dog you like) & arrange a meet and greet. The meet and greet MAY be conducted at the time of the home visit, however this will be discussed with each family.
Once a successful meet & greet has been completed, you will sign the adoption paperwork and the adoption fee will be paid. There is a 2wk trial period, so if for any reason in the next 2wks the adoption does not go ahead, the hound will come back into care and your adoption fee will be refunded or you can be matched with a new hound.
**Payment plans may be available, but you will need to discuss this with us prior to the signing of the adoption paperwork.
