About Larry
Larry is a calm, gentle, social boy who has fitted into his foster family easily. His foster mum says..."He loves his pats and food...and will give you a cheeky snoot-bump on the leg for treats. He is completely toilet trained and lets us know if he needs to go out, usually a bit of tippy-taps. He enjoys his walks a lot...three times a day for +- 20 min walks. His legs don't need more than this. He has started doing little jogs (and loves it even more if you jog with him) and bounces around quite a bit. Larry walks on a loose lead and does not pull, only stopping when there is something he really wants to sniff. On walks we have encountered other dogs and Larry wants to meet and be friends with everyone. He sniffs the other dogs and is then happy to move along. He has proven that he is at ease with children. We are happy to report that he was absolutely taken with our friend's 6yo daughter."
When Larry came in he was a very neglected boy with barely any hair to cover his body and a lacerated ulcer on his back. He was anaemic and could barely stand. After weeks of extensive veterinary care his coat is now growing back and is shiny. He is on pain management for his back and he can get around easily. He likes to sleep in now and enjoys a potter in the garden or a short walk. He is social and very gentle toward other dogs. He has a short coat and weighs 19.8kg. He is looking for a quiet life where he can enjoy his twilight years. He is looking for a committed owner willing to keep on top of his back issues and give him medicated baths.
Apartment Friendly: Could cope in an apartment environment. Regular walks or use of an artificial grass patch is suggested.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Medical notes
He comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
