About Livvy
🦄 1 x female Unicorn in need of a new home .... 🦄
I’m OLIVIA but people like to call me LIVVY for short ... I’m only 11 months old and had a rough start as you can see from what my foster mummy calls my 'bonky leg'. I’ve had two surgeries to fix my leg and Vet has said that I’ve healed well. I’ll always have a funny looking leg but it won’t cause me any trouble or cause me any pain. I let you know when I’ve had enough - I’ll just stop doing what I’m doing and lay down.
Don’t be fooled though I’m a cheeky happy and well-adjusted Madam. Foster mum has taught me the usual sit, paw, lay, I know not to come near the table when the humans are eating, I sit and wait for my food and know if I’m inside I have to be on my bed and not messing around (but I am a pup so I like to push my limits). I’m fully house and crate trained I sleep in my crate all night and you won't hear a peep from me, but if you let me in your bed I will snuggle right up into your neck and sleep soundly all night. I'm doing fantastic on the lead I walk along side my human and don’t pull if I get a little excited a small recorrect and verbal command and I will drop back to your side. I get so excited when I see hoomans or other dogs or bird I will catch one one day I'm sure of it. My recall is ummm pretty good 8 /10 times I come back but if I see a bird or something that looks a lot more interesting than my humans see you later. But then I absolutely panic when I realise I'm more than 10 metres from foster mum so run back as quick as I can. I’m a super quick learner especially if there is food or positive reinforcement involved.
I’d love a home where someone would be around during the day or at least part of it, as I don’t like to be left alone so another chilled out dog to play with and keep me company is a must. My favourite activities are being with my humans, honestly I love one on one attention hugs, kisses just being with a human makes my tail go cuckoo my foster mums says I'm the most affectionate dog she has ever fostered in 8 years of fostering. If I'm with you I'm happy and I don’t mind where that is I follow you to the bathroom, laundry, car, garden, kitchen - I like to sit in the kitchen and watch for falling food ! I play the sympathy card a lot and if I've done wrong I will sit and offer you my 'bonky' leg and give you puppy dog eyes, Foster mum falls for that one all the time.
My least favourite thing is probably water, but I've been watching my foster brother and I'm learning. It's not too bad but I'm a tips of toes kind of girl not full on swimmer, foster Mum says I can swim though she had me in the lake and was blown away how confident a swimmer I was. Second least favourite thing is being woken up as I love snuggly cuddles so I like to play dead and go floppy when you try wake me up I worked out if I keep my eyes closed the humans give up calling me and usually carry me to bed.
I can be a little nervous around loud noise and quick movements I get very jumpy and run away, I will cower and take a while to come around. But the humans are working on this too and I've learnt I don’t have to run away I can sit by mum and she gives me long strokes from my head to tail and tell me settle or its ok and I come around a lot quicker.
I know on paper - I look like I could be a bit of a harder case than usual, I can be a monster - yes - I’m a pup but I promise if you give me the time of day and spend time training me and settling me into your home, I’ll reward you with snuggles and cuddles even if you don’t want them.
