About Raja
Raja is a gentle and loving German Shepherd x Kelpie who found his way into a local shelter and us now in our care at Berkshire Park.
We often wonder why gentle loving dogs such as Raja find themselves surrendered by their former owners into animal shelters after being part of a family for half there lives.
This is the case of Raja a gentle soul cast aside and left at one of Sydney’s largest animal shelters. Raja was in meltdown locked away with the noise of over 100 dogs barking he stopped eating and had to share his cell with other dogs.
We saw his plight took him out of his cell and immediately Raja melted into our legs like glue and said save me.
This gentle and affectionate lad is looking for a forever home where he can be your companion dog, perhaps a retired couple or even an active young couple.
Raja has not put a paw out of place. Once he settles into his home his shy nature will regain his confidence and his true playful nature will emerge.
Now Raja is in our care he is slowly putting on weight and has been desexed and vet checked. He has such a soft nature we do feel he could live with cats, when carefully introduced.
Raja has the shape and size of a German Shepherd but has the soft ears and coat
of a Kelpie and brindle colouring on his flanks.
Due to his size we would recommend a home with older children who will treat him lovingly.
Raja has been introduced to both male and female dogs and he is gentle and respectful.

Medical notes
Raja is microchipped, desexed, vaccinated and has been heartworm tested and is negative.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
