About Houston
Introducing Houston!
This little guy is a bundle of fluffy fun. He loves playing with his toys and is a very loyal little companion. He is a very routine little guy, who is crate trained and heads into his crate at night for bedtime and for his day nap. He will also use his crate during storms, so his new owner would need to have a crate installed and available to help him transition into a new home.
Houston is currently sharing space with a German Shepherd and the pair get on famously. He also lives with a toddler, cats and caged birds. He comes when called, will sit, wait at doors and walks nicely on leash. He prefers a familiar environment, and enjoys exercising at home. He travels well in a car for trips out to the groomer or vet, but can get overwhelmed with new places and people, so he isn't much interested in walking the block or visiting dog parks.
This breed are very alert and intelligent. Houston recognises strangers and will bark if a stranger arrives. He settles quickly once his alert is acknowledged, and responds really well to clear instructions and contact.
If you are looking for a companion who loves his people and home.. Houston could be the furry buddy you are looking for. Ideally he'd love a home with a playmate or a person who has high availability as he is his happiest with company, but will also entertain himself with toys for short periods. He is toilet trained and uses an indoor toilet or heads outside if access to the yard is available.
Things to consider:
1. Houston is currently being brushed regularly to maintain his soft coat and long tail. If his new
owner prefers to clip his coat, he will require a visit to the groomer every 5 to 6 weeks. A
grooming kit is included with his adoption.
2.Houston requires a crate. His bed, bowls, toys and blanket will be provided to assist with his
transition into a new home, however his new owner will need to supply a crate.
3. A home with children is not recommended, as Houston loves toys... and he doesn't always
understand which toys are his and which are the toddlers. He will steal them. (He doesn't take
shoes, socks etc.)
If Houston sounds like he could be the family member you are looking for, please send through a letter of application and let us know about your home and family dynamic, previous dog or breed experience, fencing and your time/availability at home. Please also include your general availability to assist with scheduling a meet with him in North Brisbane.
*Please understand due to time constraints - applications that do not address the required information may not be considered.
Medical notes
Houston is in good health and requires no medication.
He has a current flea and worming schedule which forms part of his rescue to rehoming report.
