About Idaho & Pennsylvania
Idaho and Pennsylvania came into care as part of a large group of extremely neglected and un-socialised cats and kittens.
They arrived as 8 week olds, who had never been handled and were so matted they had to be shaved. They had cat flu, ringworm and Giardia and over the last 6 months they have been treated with 4 separate courses of medications, been desexed, microchipped vaccinated twice, parasite treated 6 times, had multiple vet visits and have eaten premium food.
It’s been a long road to recovery for these guys and their siblings, but after 6 months of intensive medical and behavioural care, Idaho and Pennsylvania are now ready to find their forever home.
Due to having stayed together for so long, we would really like to find Idaho and Penn a forever home together, though we are taking applications from homes with an existing cat for Idaho on his own - https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/644313
Idaho is a sweet, affectionate, cheeky little boy who loves to play and have the company of other cats/kittens. He is also fine with small, calm friendly dogs. While he’s still a little nervous around new people and in new situations, it won’t take him long to settle into his new home, once he adjusts to his new surroundings.
Pennsylvania is a bit more shy and reserved than her brother, but she is a sweet little girl who loves to play and once she trusts you, will invite herself onto your lap for a pat. Her confidence will only continue to grow as she becomes more comfortable in her new home.
Idaho and Penn are looking for a quiet, mature home, where they will be given the time and patience to find their feet and settle in. They would love an existing, proven cat friendly and playful cat and are fine with small, calm, friendly dogs, but would also be happy to be the only pets.
Idaho and Pennsylvania had such a terrible start to life, but despite this, they are now a happy, healthy friendly kittens who will bring many years of joy to a very lucky home.
Idaho and Pennsylcania will need regular brushing, the occasional professional trim and their faces wiped daily.
Idaho and Pennsylvania are in care in Wantirna South.
Medical notes
On arrival in care, Idaho and Pennsylvania were suffering from cat flu, ringworm and giardia. After multiple courses of medications and treatments, they are now very healthy, but all of these conditions can be triggered by suppression of the immune system and it is impossible for us to guarantee that the stress of a new environment won’t trigger a relapse of one or more of these conditions. We have gone to extreme lengths to ensure the best possible chance of Idaho and Pennsylvania remaining healthy, but applicants must be aware and accepting of the above.
Idaho and Pennsylvania go to their new home desexed, microchipped, vaccinated x2, raised on premium food, flea and worm treated monthly for 6 months and groomed.
