About Mia | Small Staffy
Ideal Owner
Mia will suit homes where she is welcome to be involved with family activities. While she likes other dogs she is people orientated. Mia needs to be the only permanent dog in the home. She will suit full time workers or folks home more often then not.
She will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters or time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Mia will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
She will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not,
- someone that works from home,
- part time workers,
- full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as Mia is a central focus when you are home.
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
Mia is playful and loves attention. Mia loves walks, the beach and drives in the car.
Like most dogs she tends to get excited at times but once she settles is calm and enjoys laying around. She is not fussy with food and learns quickly.
Mia is a beautiful looking dog who is also easy going and eager to please.
Exercise Requirements
Medium - playful and moderately active (can miss a daily walk).
She loves the park and the beach.
Type of Yard Required
Secure and interesting, medium to large sized yard. Fencing should be at least shoulder height and continue into the ground. Mia may try to escape if alone during fireworks or thunder storms and will try and slip out an open door or gate.
When ON a lead ...
Starts off pulling but settles like most dogs.
When OFF a lead ...
If no one is around she will come back when called. If there are distractions she will run towards them and not come back.
Other Dogs - cautious owner has never let her off lead
Not Good with Cats
Good with Kids + 12 yrs as she jumps when excited

______________________________________
We strongly recommend you read the profile carefully where everything we know about the dog/s is outlined.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner(s). It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog(s).
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we offer a 2 week cooling off period but do not usually allow trials. See here for the difference https://www.dogadoption.org.au/can-my-dogs-new-owner-have-a-trial-period-before-deciding-to-adopt.html
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
