About Vinny
He's a really sweet kitten under the 'tough guy' act!
Vinny is a very shy kitten, who unfortunately shows his shyness by hissing at strangers. But he's actually very sweet and gentle - not aggressive at all. Hissing is all an act; just his defense when he's scared.
Vinny has been in foster care for 6 weeks and shown huge improvement in that time. It turns out that he's gentle, affectionate and loves scratches on the back of his neck. He has an adorable high-pitched squeaky meow that sounds like a much younger kitten. He has come from hissing and hiding, to now loving being patted. He's gentle when he plays with human hands, but very boisterous and enthusiastic when he plays with his toys.
Vinny likes other cats and, with the normal gentle introduction, would enjoy living with other cats. Because Vinny finds loud noises and sudden movements scary, he probably wouldn't suit a family with young children or 'rough-and-tumble' dogs. It's likely Vinny could live with older children or slow-moving, gentle dogs.
Moving Vinny to new situations makes him nervous, so his forever family will need a little patience, as he may take up to a month to settle in and relax in his new home. But he is worth the wait; he's a sweet, affectionate and playful kitten who would make a great new member of the household.
Adoption details
Just browse some of the photos of our beautiful cats available for adoption or come to our shelter in Shenton Park to meet our many beautiful kitties.
Please be aware that the cats featured on this page represent only a very small portion of the total number of beautiful felines we have available for adoption. We do not include any of our kittens on this page, as the turnover for youngsters is simply too high to keep up-dating, but we always have many beautiful kittens looking for homes!
Also many of our cats and kittens are currently staying in temporary foster homes out in the community but are still looking for a loving home, so please call Cat Haven in advance if you want to make arrangements for a meeting with a foster cat.
