About Aubrey **On Trial With My New Family**
Aubrey is truly one of a kind. She's sweet, affectionate and clever. One thing that strikes us is what an old soul she is, its like she's been here many times before. She takes everything in and is just the sweetest puppy with so much potential.
We are looking for an experienced large breed owner for Aubrey and a playful male doggo friend for companionship. Someone who understands that giant breed pups can't be over exercised, their dietary needs and can't be overweight as it dramatically impacts their joints as they get older and their lifespan. She is toilet trained and sleeps through the night, and she's learning to not be scared of being on lead. Aubrey (and her sister) have come from a loving home however she needs ongoing positive training and a patient owner who recognises that she is an impressionable and shy girl at heart. She can't be flooded as she will crumble.
Aubrey is not suitable with poultry or other small pets like rabbits as her prey drive is a bit too high to be safely homed with small flighty animals. She's been great with every dog she's met, including small breeds and needs to have another male canine friend to keep her company (please have a read about prey drive, its not to be confused with aggressive behaviour). Aubrey is also fantastic with humans and children, but as she's a jumpy and playful puppy we'd recommend a home with children 10+ so they don't get balled over. Her adult teeth are through (yayyyy no more sharp baby teeth!) however she's still chewing so its important you have plenty of chew toys, enrichment and a sand pit for her to practice her digging.
Please note we will only contact applicants who complete out application form found here: http://www.wapetproject.com.au/our-adoption-process
Medical notes
Aubrey will come with a sterilisation certificate for when she reached 12 months of age. Its important her new owners are aware that there's a chance she may have one heat cycle before she's sterilised and that they're able to properly manage this including keeping her safe from male dogs.
