About The Big Hearted and Beautiful... Boots!
Boots is an 8yo desexed German Shepherd.who has lived a very happy life with loving owners since the age of 8 weeks. He has spent the last 12 months loyally standing by as his owner battled a terminal illness. It is now time for Boots to find a new home and someone very special to share the next chapter of his life.
Boots is a very easy going guy. He is quiet and a great listener, and loves sharing time with people. He grew up with an older male Shepherd, and did not socialize a great deal beyond the family unit. He is now sharing a home with a young female GSD while awaiting his new home, and she prompts brief morning and afternoon runs. Being that bit older, he obliges her these runs, but he'd be just as happy watching her run!
Boots comes with his pedigree papers and would quite likely be happiest as a solo companion dog, as he loves being by your side and part of whatever you are doing and makes such a great best mate.
Boots is great with all ages and quite steady, however precautions should always be taken with littlies and those who may be a little unsteady on their feet, as he is a large dog. He is currently living with a toddler and has experience with children as his previous owner had 10 grandchildren. He walks well on leash, will Sit and Lay Down when asked, and Waits without fuss.
Boots travels really well and enjoys the car. He is not high energy and has not required high fences. He enjoys short walks, and is possibly his happiest getting his exercise beside you either in the house, yard or in the shed.
For several years Boots had a unique friendship with a neighbouring horse and the pair became firm friends. He is also unfazed by caged or wild birds, but does not have experience with chooks or cats. He has lived indoors, and settles nicely inside. He can open sliding glass doors and will head inside for storms or to cool off in airconditioning.
In quite a short time, Boots has built himself quite a fan club - it is hoped that his new owner will send the occasional update pics for those who are cheering him on and will be looking forward to hearing he is enjoying new life.
If you are looking for a very calm, quiet and loyal best mate.. Boots would love to meet with you!
Medical notes
Boots is in great health and does not require any regular medication.
