About Sandy (Adoption Pending)
Sandy is the sweetest, best natured girl who comes across as a little shy and quiet at first but is very loving once she's comfortable.
She is very chilled and will happily laze around while on her own or in your company but is really playful when she has another dog around (she is very fond of my two (amstaff and staffy x) and follows them around when they're home together). She enjoys going for walks or to the dog park as she is very friendly (not super used to water yet though). She also walks well on the lead and doesn't pull - just occasionally gets distracted by the new smells or people/animals around her!
I think her favourite is playing at home with the other dogs though and she is almost inseparable from my amstaff when they're together - she hasn't mastered fetch just yet but has taken to tug of war. We have a medium sized yard and that's good for her - she does like to run around and spend time out there playing. She hasn't shown any attempt to escape or run away either. Even though she is young she hasn't shown interest in chewing much - she tried to eat one of my sneaker laces but in a week and a half that's all. She likes stuffed toys and she has flavoured toy bones she likes to chew on as well.
She is a very clever well behaved girl and already knows sit and stay. She also waits patiently for her food until you tell her it's okay. She also has no issue eating around other dogs or food guarding signs. She is definitely motivated by food to learn though.
She has been around kids aged 6-10 and is great. She barely ever jumps when she's excited so I think she would be good with young kids as well as she is so gentle and tends to just sit quietly near them and let her pat them.
Currently untested with cats either but based on her nature I think she would be ok. She is an inside & outside dog currently and I think that would be best for her. She likes to be near her humans when she's at home and quite often will follow me around the house when she's not with the other dogs. She does sleep in our room on her bed but think she would be okay anywhere in the house. I think she would also be okay being left alone and hasn't shown to whine or bark when she's left (although most of the time she has the dogs for company). Apart from occasionally barking at our neighbours dog (and not aggressively) I don't think I have heard her bark at all. She is also great to bath and great in the car - placid and just sits quietly.
She really is the perfect little dog with a beautiful gentle nature. I think a home with another playful dog would be best - she loves playing and wrestling with my young dog and trying to coax my older dog into playing. So far I haven't noticed any bad habits at all. Oh and she is house trained - she has had a couple of accidents (only pee) inside but only because I don't think she quite knows how to signal when she needs to go outside so access to both inside and outside would be good.
