About Basil (and Monty)
**Please note, Basil is located on the Central Coast, NSW, and you must be able to have a face to face visit before adoption.**
Basil is a black and white tuxedo cat, and at first she seems to have a very timid personality. However, getting to know Basil is like cracking open a coconut. Inside her shy exterior is a sweet, playful cat. While she isn't a lap cat, she does love to be patted and kissed. If you pick her up, she will gladly be held indefinitely, purring all the while.
Basil loves to "kill" her favourite toys, and then carry them around proudly for everyone to admire. She also loves to climb and explore and you can often find her because her giant eyes will be watching you intently from various hiding spots around the house. When she's feeling confident, Basil can have a little bit of a chatter. She loves to eat, but thanks to a very active lifestyle, she's a very petite little girl.
Due to Basil's hunting abilities with her toys, she is an indoor only cat.
Basil lives in foster care with her sister Monty (see her here https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/596311). Together Monty and Basil are wonderful. They play with and clean each other every day. They will wrestle a lot and then sleep together in a tight hug. When they are apart for too long or if one can't find her sister then they will call out until they're reunited. We believe they are bonded and would love to see them adopted together.
Basil is great with other cats, but hasn't had the opportunity to meet dogs or other types of pets before. She would be fine with older children who could be patient with her.
