About Poppy **On Hold
Poppy is a slim, dainty kitty and she has learned to love the children in her foster home, really enjoys playing with them. She's also the most adventurous, being the first to learn how to do everything or go anywhere. Poppy has gorgeous tabby markings and an endearing personality - she loves her humans but as a kitten she's likely to skedaddle off to do her own thing after smooching with you. She's a real princess.
Her glossy cost is short and very easy-care. Her colouring is a little different to the others ... a beautiful tan tummy & ears. Just stunning.
Poppy has been placed into another foster home with more bustle and children, including a typically boisterous toddler. She is loving life there and has formed quite an attachment with the 8yo in the home, so she will definitely take to any cat-friendly children.
Poppy was trapped near the airport with her littermates after an employee noticed their deceased mother on the road. In just a few short weeks she went from being a scared bush kitty to a purring girl bursting with health and loving life. This came about with a diet of premium kitten food and a ton of handling & love from a band of kitty-snuggler volunteers who cuddled & played with them every day for several weeks. It was a crash course in Domestication and Loving Humans!
Poppy has grown up with plenty of other cats of all ages, two sizes of cat-savvy dogs and was snuggled a lot by children during her initiation into indoor life. She will probably need a lot of company. Other pets would be great for her.
For her safety and your own peace of mind Poppy should be an indoor-only cat, although a secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for her. But an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers & plenty of toys), some good window seats & views of outside perhaps with a screen door or window to look through & sniff the breeze, and lots of attention should be adequate.
Located in Yanchep.
Medical notes
Poppy is a superbly healthy kitten who has been sterilised & microchipped and had both her F5 kitten vaccinations. She is up to date with parasite control. No more vet visits til 2019! A lot of attention is given to her researched, top quality diet so she can develop to her fullest potential.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
