About Joy ~ Jack Russell x puppy (on trial 15/12/17)
Meet Joy! She’s radiant, she’s terrific, she is SOME PUP! This gorgeous little girl is a 7 week old Jack Russell x puppy, with a stocky little body, short little legs and a sweet personality.
One of our Charlotte’s Web babies, Joy is absolutely her name personified. We expect her to grow into a small to medium sized dog. She could potentially have Staffy or working breed in her.
Joy is awaiting vet assessment and her first vaccination, but is a very healthy little pup. She is currently just under 2kg’s so don’t be deceived by photos. She gives the best cuddles and playing with toys and her siblings is her favourite pass time. We anticipate she should be ready for her new home from the week of the 18th of December.
Being a very young and small pup, Joy will not be able to be left for long periods of time, so will need a family where someone is home most of the time. She will need a secure yard with no gaps in fencing and might struggle with stairs until she gets a bit bigger. It is an absolute must that she be allowed to sleep inside at least until fully grown.
Puppy school and continued training are always recommended to create a strong bond with a new pup and teach them the skills to live happily in a new home and family. Small children must also be monitored around young pups to ensure they are handled correctly and a positive relationship is created on both sides. Given the timing of this adoption, as a rescue we will also be taking every precaution to ensure that prospective families are committed to a dog for life and not just for Christmas.
Joy's brother Templeton is also available https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/588313
As Joy is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
Joy is currently in care in Port Stephens. As we anticipate a lot of interest in her, please contact her carer Lauren via email on hitthesand@hotmail.com with a completed adoption questionnaire (http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf).
Joy's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
