About Templeton ~ Jack Russell x (on trial 15/12/17)
Meet Templeton! He’s radiant, he’s terrific, he is SOME PUP! This gorgeous little man is a 7 week old Jack Russell x puppy, with a stocky little body, the cutest folded ears and perfectly eye-linered eyes.
One of our Charlotte’s Web babies, Templeton is nothing like his name sake, except when his sisters gang up on him in play fights. We expect him to grow into a small to medium sized dog. He could potentially have Staffy or working breed in him.
Templeton is awaiting vet assessment and his first vaccination, but is a very healthy little pup. He is currently just over 2kg’s so don’t be deceived by photos. He loves cuddles and playing with toys is his favourite pass time. He is the first one to put himself to sleep after a play and enjoys a good stretch out in a quiet spot. We anticipate he should be ready for his new home from the week of the 18th of December.
Being a very young and small pup, Templeton will not be able to be left for long periods of time, so will need a family where someone is home most of the time. He will need a secure yard with no gaps in fencing and might struggle with stairs until he gets a bit bigger. It is absolute must that he be allowed to sleep inside at least until fully grown.
Puppy school and continued training are always recommended to create a strong bond with a new pup and teach them the skills to live happily in a new home and family. Small children must also be monitored around young pups to ensure they are handled correctly and a positive relationship is created on both sides. Given the timing of this adoption, as a rescue we will also be taking every precaution to ensure that prospective families are committed to a dog for life and not just for Christmas.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
