About Shadow
Shadow is 4 and half years old and has spent all of her life on a rural property. As we know the majority of arctics do not do well on a rural property and her love of sheep and high prey drive has now brought her into the city. She loves people, has been socialised with other dogs, but can be quite boisterous and not really sure when to slow down and as you can by her photo she loves food ( she is little chubby) whilst she is sitting looking at that treat. She resource guards big food ticket items like bones and pigs ears but is fine with kibble and wet food and toys. So consequently we cannot place her in a home with children. She has been predominantly been an outside dog but comes inside most days and I know that many Malamutes do better when they are very much a part of the family. WE are looking for a foster care home or permanent home with owners who have had arctic breed experience or have had larger dogs and are prepared to spend some time with Shadow, not just looking after her but spend time on some training, working with her food guarding, etc. Ideally we would like to place her in a home on her own, just so she gets the attention she deserves.
