Introducing Hercules - a 9 year old Siberian Husky with a God's name who thinks he is a pussy cat. Hercules is a real shmoocher - he loves being with people and isn't shy about making new friends or asking them for cuddles.
Hercules is an energetic and playful boy who belies his age - he is proof that seniors know how to party too. He loves toys and balls and will entertain himself playing with them - he would love a yard where he can run around playing with his toys and then have a snooze in the shade.
Hercules loves walking and is a talker - he will happily chat to you about his day. He can tug on lead in his excitement to go on an adventure but he isn't overly strong. He has some basic training - he sits and drops for a treat and then trots to you for a pat when he selectively forgets to stay! Hercules is a real character who can be a little bossy telling you what he wants but he will have you smitten with him in no time.
Hercules is a funny boy who pulls hilarious facial expressions and who thinks the world revolves around him (he is a God after all). He may suit a variety of home environments - an active single or couple, or a home with teenagers who are experienced with big, playful dogs. He can jump up in excitement however he's very gentle and he responds well to rewards to keep all 4 paws on the floor.
Hercules is in care with many dogs - he is good socialising with quite a few of them and he'll hang out with up to 20 dogs during the day. He Is an affection hog with humans so it's important for him to be reminded that he has to share and he can't steal the limelight from his canine friends. He would be fine as an only dog or in a home with an existing friendly canine pal. As with most of our arctics we'd recommend a home without cats or pocket pets.
Hercules has a long term companion Xena who is also available for adoption (see her profile at https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/571131 ). So if you are after a pair of arctics then they may be a good match for you. Hercules and Xena have a quirky relationship - she sees him as a security blanket and he likes to hog the affection from humans thus compounding her shyness. If being adopted as a pair their new family will need to ensure Xena is given her own special one-on-one time and rewards before Hercules so he remembers to share.
If you are looking to adopt a cuddly bear companion who will join you in both adventure and lazy days chilling out then Hercules will raise his paw to be your new best friend!
Hercules has been vet checked and is in good health.
