About Loki
I am a soft-furred friendly bunny looking for a home with someone who will play with me every day. My coat is mostly black with pretty white hairs all through it.
I came into a vet clinic as a stray with another bunny who used to beat me up. He bullied me so much that he ripped my ear! I had a bald spot on my back too, but that is growing back. We have since been separated and now I live alone for my own safety.
I have been getting lots of yummy treats and attention where I currently am. I do enjoy being in a hutch on my own and I am so much happier now but I need a forever home. I think I will enjoy a friendly rabbit friend if you have one and we are introduced carefully. I am a social animal and I will get sad if I am on my own so if I don't have a bunny friend then I will need you to give me lots of attention every day.
I love to explore and I love food, so if you have lots of green stuff growing in your garden, please let me explore and eat it (only if it’s safe).
Thank goodness my Rescue people think it's really important that rabbits are microchipped just like other pets; after all the reason I had to be rescued is because I escaped once already! So yes, I have been microchipped so I'll never go missing again.
There is a little kid here where I am now and I don't mind him; everyone can pat me as much as they want and if you have food, that’s even better! My fur has become very soft and healthy now that I'm on a great diet and the humans say really nice things when they stroke me. But when I am picked up I get a bit scared and kick my feet and sometimes this scratches people. I promise it’s an accident and it’s just because I’m not familiar with being up in the air. Maybe if you are gentle and take your time with me I will get used to it eventually.
I am eating a Vetafarm rabbit pellet diet which is ideal for me as it gives me lots of nutrition. I adore my veggies; all kinds. No favourites, I'm a piggie of a bunny! (But no lettuce please because it's very bad for me!) I also really love eating hay, so please make sure you can supply me with lots and lots of it. It helps me to grind down my teeth and gives me something to do when you’re not spending time with me!
I can't tell my carer if I've ever been an indoors bunny and when she gave me a litter tray I thought it was a great bed! However I like to do all my poos in one place in the corner of my cage so she thinks I will be easily litter-trained or retrained.
If you think you can give me a great forever home, please apply to come and meet me and hopefully we make a great match!
Located in Two Rocks.
Medical notes
I have just been to the vet and had another check up and I'm very healthy! They don't really know how old I am except that I am an adult and they put me down as 2yo.
I weigh 2.1kg and my teeth are normal & well-aligned.
I am microchipped.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future, near or far, where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to, in which case please let us know.
If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
