About Chandon
What a lovely colour Chandon is; soft champagne to go with his soft coat! He is a tolerant young man in his busy home. He's quite confident, inquisitive and very playful! He loves to explore the house and his new outdoor enclosure and play with his carer’s cats and dogs. He is fascinated (and a little alarmed) by the rabbits!
Chandon is affectionate and squeaks a conversation with you as he comes running to meet you. He is an undemanding cat who is often quite happy just to lie next to you (preferably on your paperwork!) and have the occasional stroke and chin rub. He has a soft purr and is usually gentle, but can play rough once in a while! He likes to spy on house visitors from a hiding place to suss them out but if you can be understanding of his point of view about that, you'll be able to enjoy his full personality once he goes home with you.
Chandon would love some animal company to play with, so a companion animal is preferable for him. As he is very friendly with dogs and has a pink nose he is not suited to being an outdoor cat. Chandon is usually easy to handle and medicate. He is in excellent health and is fed on high quality food.
For his safety and your own peace of mind, Chandon needs to be an indoor-only cat. A secure cat enclosure would be a wonderful bonus for him but an enriched household (with cat towers, scratchers, plenty of toys and pots of cat grass) and lots of attention would see to his needs.
Located in Koondoola.
Medical notes
Chandon is super-healthy and has grown up on very high quality kitten food, now changed to similar quality adult food. He is desexed, microchipped, wormed regularly and is fully up to date with vaccinations.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not than rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to in which case please let us know. If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
