About Sparkles
Super-sociable with people and other pets, Sparkles was so named because when he was teeny-tiny he had little dots on his nose & we thought he was a girl. He has most of the wonderful traits of his mixed Bengal heritage. He is energetic, athletic, crazy-playful, curious, friendly to all, loves being stroked from head to tail over again, loves to sleep with you and also follows you around during the day to see how you are and what you might have to offer - he will give chirrupping sounds to let you know he wants to be with you & climbs on chairs or towers to get to your level. He loves to have mutual groom sessions where you stroke him then he washes your hand with great attention to detail. Sparkles is a very people-oriented cat without being a lap cat, though since his brother & sister were adopted he shows some signs of maybe wanting to discover the pleasures of lap-dreaming.
He is a great climber, loves to be up high, but usually isn't too vocal unless you accidentally lock him in somewhere on his own. He's very smart! His short, glossy and beautifully marbled coat will be mimimum maintenance all his life!
He has a pixie face with a pointed chin and a shiny coat advertising his health. His bright musk pink nose is so pretty. His slim body is very athletic and he is brave - will try anything once.
To think that soon after he was born, some human dumped him and 2 other kittens in a bin is impossible to understand however he & his companions then hit the jackpot because they were found & handed to the pound. Luckily for us all, soon after that all 3 came to live & grow up with me.
Life then became pretty grand as they were spoiled rotten while they recovered and they developed as normal kittens because even tho they lost their mother at too young an age, I supplemented their needs as closely as I could and they are all extremely healthy.
Sparkles is growing up with numerous cats & 2 dogs and does not show any shyness with them. He would like to have other dogs in the home as long as they have been "catified" - trained to realise that cats are the lords of the universe. He would really love for his new home to have another cat or two as he is extremely cat-social ... he goes up to any new cat or kitten and straight away just asks to play. He will love children too but he sometimes can use his claws & teeth during play, so supervision will be required as well as further training in playing with toys, not your hands.
Sparkles has grown up indoors but would truly benefit from having a secure cat enclosure. He has got out a few times and he loves the outdoors but because of the dangers facing any free-roaming cat he must live inside. With plenty of toys & tunnels & towers & scratch posts & the company of other pets & his own family, he will be happy.
Sparkles is outgoing and always on the lookout for his next adventure. He will provide you with endless amusement and love in return for good food, company and a safe & loving home.
Located in Yanchep.
Medical notes
Sparkles is super-healthy and has grown up on very high quality kitten food. He is wormed regularly and has had both his kitten vaccinations. No vet visit until 2018!.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I send you an Application form via email.
3. I will phone you.
4. Meet & greet.
5. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
6. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to PRAAS; not than rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to in which case please let us know. If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
