About Adam
Labrador Rescue took Mary into care as an emergency foster at the urgent request of a local country pound. Mary was about to give birth and the pound could not staff for that over the Xmas shut down. As Mary is such a sweet girl, staff were very keen to get her into safe hands. Mary went on to have 8 pups born on Xmas Eve. A wonderful mum, she sadly developed dire medical needs when her babies were nearly two weeks old and headed in for emergency surgery. Carers then set about hand raising the babies as Mary was no longer able to feed or care for them.
These babies have been bottle fed first then graduated to lapping formula out of bowls, then eating mush and have finally made it to eating dry puppy food out of bowls and drinking water. Such progress in so short a time. They are also on their way to being house trained, to knowing their names and coming when called. The pups are growing up with other adult dogs, people large and small a cat, kittens, ducks and chickens. They are being well socialized and are experiencing life out of doors and inside family life and sounds.
Like Eve, Adam is the mature one in this pack (gang?) of 8 pups. First born of the boys Adam is one chilled out dude and is happy to go with the flow of life. He doesn't get bent out of shape when everybody plays "stacks on" and he's on the bottom of the puppy pile, he just oozes out from underneath and cruises on down the highway of life. Adam is a happy easy going boy who will fit into any household. He's happy to play hard then chill and loves being loved.
Like all pups, these little ones will need to go to a home with either a mature, social adult dog or a stay at home human to continue the critical socialisation all pups need to develop into well balanced adult dogs. New owners should be committed to taking these little ones to puppy school then on to obedience training to develop them properly. As all puppies bite and chew, a home with children over 10 years of age is best for all too.
Adam is located in Queanbyan NSW (next to Canberra ACT) and is available for interstate adoption. Adam comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love and a gorgeous smile for the right family for a re-homing fee of$400.
Adoption details
Please go to the website http://www.rescuealabrador.com/
to submit an adoption application. Please click on the adopt a dog link on the left hand side of the screen and complete the questions if you are interested in adopting aLabrador.
We will not discuss specific dogs with you until you have completed this questionnaire as this allows us to establish which dogs are potential matches for your lifestyle.
Once we have found a suitable match to your family, we will allow you to contact the appropriate foster carer who will discuss the dog in more detail with you.
Once you are both satisfied that this is a good match you will be able to meet the Lab. If all goes well, you will be able to take the dog on a 2 week trial. You will complete the adoption paperwork and pay the adoption fee at this stage.
At the end of the 2 week trial you will be able to adopt the Lab and we will submit the microchip transfer to the council.
