About Oliver♥No more enquiries please♥
Oliver has one of the most perfect faces I have ever seen on a cat. It's big and beautifully coloured and his piercing blue eyes are large and round. He is all-round drop-dead gorgeous and looks very young. He has a bold, confident and independent personality, but will suddenly flop down on his side and squirm around when being stroked or talked to, just like any other Ragdoll.
He is a Blue Point Ragdoll (purebred) who was surrendered to us due to family difficulties. He has quickly become much more fun and friendly than when he first arrived and he loves playing like a kitten with toys and running through the cat tunnels.
Oliver needs to be an only cat, as his behaviour is quite dominant with other cats. He has met dogs for the first time in his life and tolerates them. These particular dogs have been trained to know that cats are lords of the universe. He would not like bouncy, barky, or chasey dogs!
Oliver would very much like a quiet home where he can spend the rest of his life in luxury, rule the family and find the peace he deserves. A quiet dog and older, cat-respectful children would be fine for him.
Ollie must live strictly indoors, although a cat run would be a wonderful addition so he can occasionally visit the outdoors to enjoy the breeze or sunlight when he feels like it.
He has a very thick and soft coat of fine hair and requires regular help with grooming. He has that wonderful relaxed Ragdoll way about him so he allows grooming, even though he doesn't really like it. I groom him a bit at a time, until he starts asking me to stop.
Located in Yanchep.
Medical notes
Oliver arrived slightly underweight due to the worms, constant grooming efforts to rid himself of fleas, scratching & poor feeding. This was addressed with supplemental, nutritious meals and will have no long-lasting effects.
It was noted that his teeth needed a clean which would be done under general anaesthetic, so his new family will need to agree to have this done. ***At his last check ups he didn't seem to require this treatment any more. I have been mixing dental biscuits into his diet and they seem to have cleaned his teeth very well! Additionally he is now also given Plaqueoff with every meal. So a dental check with every medical is now sufficient.***
At today's vet visit (April 2017) the vet said he could easily pass for a 5 year old both in looks and movement.
He is sharing his brother's prescription "Urinary" diet because it doesn't hurt & may help him if he is also prone to formation of urinary crystals, a common problem in older and/or stressed cats.
Ollie has just turned 10 and will need 6 monthly vet-checks.
Adoption details
When you see the picture, read the profile & think "This is the one!" I want to hear from you! Please message me with your email address so I can send you an application form. Although it's important for these adoptees to find their forever homes asap, there will be an informal interview process to see if you both match. This is the difference between adopting & buying and it serves the really important purpose of keeping you together for life. All family members will be included in the adoption process. Everyone counts.
1. Message me.
2. I will phone you.
3. Meet & greet.
4. 2 week (or more) trial adoption.
5. You have a new family member!
The adoption fee shown on each listing mainly covers the cost of the vetwork needed before adoption & it allows rescue continuity. It is seriously much cheaper to adopt from a rescue than to get a "Free to good home" & organise all the vetwork yourself.
Once it's been decided that you will trial your possible family member, you will complete the adoption form, pay the fee & take him/her home to see for sure that the fit is right. The settling in process can take some time or it may be almost instant. If after a while (around 2 weeks) it becomes apparant that the chemistry just isn't there, the animal can be returned for a full refund. Please be aware that this is not a failure for either you or the adoptee. It simply didn't work & there is no blame.
If the adoption goes ahead but some unforseen circumstance rises in the future where you must be separated, your pet MUST be returned to us, PRAS, rather than rehomed by yourself. We have rescued that animal & we need to know that he/she is safe for the rest of its life. It may be that you have a wonderful next home to move them to in which case we would probably agree, but we need to know. If the animal is returned to us at this later stage there is no refund.
