About Dre
Dre is an active timid natured boy who needs time to trust you. You need to meet him a few times to build confidence. Dre is nervous of strangers and is reactive to loud household noises. He gets startled easily. He walks well on lead and does not pay attention to passing dogs or cars. Dre can get spooked by fast moving objects and loud noises and needs a calm family skilled at obedience training and particularly rewarding calm behaviour. He takes treats ever so gently. Once he knows you he is a very affectionate boy who is particularly fond of belly rubs. He has a smooth shiny coat and weighs about 10.3kg.
Adult Home: Nervous or not tolerant of children. And/or too high a level of excitability for children to control.
Suit Full Time Worker: Not overly needy and can entertain itself. DR recommends play time, dog toys etc.
Garden: Needs a home that has more space as well as a garden for exercise and regular walks outside.
NEEDS RESCUE EXPERIENCE
Many people grow up with, or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and well rounded.
However, many rescue dogs have not been as lucky to have had this life. Unfortunately, there are dogs who have been through a major roller coaster of a life. Some have been physically abused, neglected & traumatised.
These dogs need someone with previous rescue experience in rehabilitating traumatised dogs who have an in depth understanding of and experience with, building relationships with dogs like these.
Medical notes
Dre comes desexed, C5 vaccinated, heartworm free and microchipped. Also included for the love and health of our dogs is a free Health and Wellness Voucher with our DR Vet.
Adoption details
DoggieRescue is a charitable organisation and as such we rely very much on volunteers to manage our adoptions. We answer initial adoption enquiries by email or phone and then arrange an appointment for you to meet some of our rescue dogs.
At DoggieRescue we believe our dogs deserve to find that special someone who will love them and look after them forever. We know that there are homes out there that are willing to accommodate one more little member of the family and dedicate time to their well being.
