Spike ~ Ridge x cattlex Mast pup (trial 8/11/15)

Hello, I’m Spike! My carer named me that because of my beautiful ‘ridgeback’. I’m an 11 week old, tan/white coloured, male Ridgeback X Cattle X Mastiff, and I don’t mind telling you, I’M ADORABLE!! (just ask me). I came from a litter of 5, and some of my other brothers and sisters are also available for adoption, so please get in touch with my foster mum if you don’t think I’m your cup of tea but you think one of my siblings might be a better match for you.

I’m an energetic bundle of cuteness, and I spend my days basking in the sun and running around the back yard with my brother. I have plenty of confidence, and sometimes I try to steal my brother's food. My foster parents are trying to help me in this area, and I’m getting much better.

My foster mum gives us our dinner around 6pm every night, and we’re then allowed inside for the rest of the night until morning – as she feels we’re too young to sleep outside plus she doesn't want us to get stolen. I’ve been in this routine for a couple of weeks now and like it, especially because I have my brother for company. We’re very close – so the initial separation will be hard on me. I’d love to find a home with another dog to keep me company to help with the transition. If you don’t have another dog, but you’re home a lot, this could work too. You should know, I’m a serial snuggler – so brace yourself!

My foster family also consists of 2 cats and a 6 month old baby – so I’ve had pleasant exposure in these areas with no drama. I have a ‘baby licking’ fetish though, so my foster parents are trying to help me kick the habit.

My brother and I have slowly started getting the knack of toilet training, but sometimes we mess up. I definitely need more training in this area and I respond well to treats. I would like for you to take me to puppy school so I can learn what you expect of me.

Like any puppy I can sometimes get into mischief, so you’ll need to keep your eye on me. I am easily entertained with toys and companionship.

I am due for my second vaccination in the coming weeks, and I’ll need to be desexed at approximately 16 weeks old. The costs of these procedures are included in my adoption fee (my 3rd vaccination needs to be paid for by you). Because the DRN approved vets are limited to the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens areas I’m not allowed to be adopted outside these areas just yet. If I still haven’t found my forever home by the time these procedures are done my foster mum will consider other NSW areas.
