Female Domestic Short Hair Cat
- Rescue group:
- Bendigo Animal Welfare and Community Services
- PetRescue ID:
Zelda did not have any human contact for the beginning of her life and was very scared when she first arrived. She is still a timid girl, who takes some time to get to know and trust you.
She has been sharing with other cats and a household with an existing cat may help her to feel more comfortable. She does have a playful streak, which you will likely see as she gets used to her environment.
Zelda is best suited to a quiet household with an experienced cat owner, who is prepared to give her the time she needs to adapt and build a special friendship. She will require gentle and calm handling to continue to gain her trust.

Interested in adopting?
1. Please complete our online Cat Adoption Application Form
2. Our Adoption Committee (in consultation with Foster Carer, if applicable) will assess your application against the needs of the cat/kitten(s) you are applying for.
3. If your application is to progress to the next stage, you will be invited to a "Meet & Greet" appointment (at our Huntly North Shelter) where you will get to meet the cat/kitten(s) you are interested in. If the meeting is a success and all parties are happy to proceed, an adoption can take place on the day or if the potential new home is local to Bendigo, we have the option to ‘trial’ first (especially with cats entering into a home where there is an existing cat/cats).
BAWCS takes back any animal that does not work out for whatever reason. We insist that the animal must be returned to us and is not to be transferred to any other party if the adoption doesn't work out, regardless of what time has elapsed. You can adopt with confidence from BAWCS!
