Meet beautiful Echidna, affectionately known as Molly! This gorgeous 2-year-old Border Terrier mix is an incredibly clever, affectionate and gentle girl who has so much love to give. 🥹💕

Molly has been settling beautifully into foster care, and her wonderful personality is shining through more and more each day!

🐾 ONE VERY CLEVER LITTLE LADY! 🎓

Molly isn’t just a pretty face! This intelligent girl already knows how to:

✨ Sit
✨ Shake paws
✨ Lie down
✨ Turn around
✨ Give hugs on command
✨ Stop at the road before crossing

With a few tasty treats and some encouragement, we have no doubt Molly could learn plenty more tricks! She’s eager to please and absolutely loves making her humans happy. ❤️

Molly has met dogs of all different sizes and absolutely loves making new four-legged friends. She’s even met chickens and was far more interested in sampling their food than bothering them! 😂🐔

🐶 A FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND IS AT THE TOP OF MOLLY’S WISH LIST! ❤️

One thing Molly’s foster family has discovered is just how much she thrives with another dog around.

Molly loves being part of the pack! She’s not interested in being the boss and is perfectly content following the lead of a friendly resident dog.

Having another dog around gives Molly confidence, comfort and companionship. She happily settles at home while her foster mum is working when her foster sibling is there to keep her company.

However, when left completely alone, Molly has shown signs of struggling after approximately an hour.

For this reason, we would love to find Molly a forever home with another friendly, compatible dog, particularly if her humans work outside the home.

She absolutely adores snuggling up with her foster sibling and simply wants to feel like part of the family. 🥹💕

💗 A LITTLE SHADOW WITH A BIG HEART!

If you’re looking for a dog who absolutely adores her humans, Molly might just be your girl!

She loves nothing more than being close to her people, soaking up cuddles, belly rubs and affection.

And if you happen to forget your patting duties? Don’t worry! Molly will gently tap you with her paw to remind you that she’s still waiting! 😂❤️

Molly has also been taught to stand up and give hugs on command. Occasionally, when she’s feeling particularly affectionate, she might offer one without being asked!

While her hugs are incredibly gentle, her foster family has been teaching her the command “down”, which she is responding to beautifully.

Although Molly is crate trained, she’s happiest relaxing in the same room as her favourite humans.

🏡 SETTLING INTO HER NEW WORLD

After spending time in the pound, Molly understandably needed a little time to decompress and adjust to life in a loving home.

During her first few days, she developed a funny little habit of collecting shoes and household items. Thankfully, this behaviour has significantly improved as she’s settled, and it hasn’t been an issue over the past week.

She can also be a little hesitant when entering unfamiliar environments, but with gentle encouragement and reassurance, her confidence quickly grows.

During a recent vet visit, Molly was initially unsure about walking through the doors. However, once she spotted another visitor heading inside, she happily followed!

And once inside? She was far more concerned about being allowed to say hello to the Labrador and Staffy waiting in reception! 😂🐶

👧 WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?

Molly currently lives with a 10-year-old boy and has also met toddlers.

She is affectionate and loves being involved in everything her humans are doing. Sometimes she gets a little enthusiastic about following young children around in the hope of receiving more pats!

While Molly means absolutely no harm, a home with younger children would need to be carefully considered, with appropriate supervision and guidance.

✂️ A LITTLE GROOMING GOES A LONG WAY!

Molly has an adorable coat that can be kept shorter or grown out into a gorgeous, scruffy look!

However, her longer coat requires regular grooming and maintenance to prevent painful matting and skin irritation.

When Molly first arrived, she had significant matting that had caused sores underneath her fur. Her forever family will need to be committed to maintaining her coat and keeping her skin healthy and comfortable.
