About Howard
*In foster care in Bondi*
Meet Howard, a handsome young man with adorable facial markings, a gentle nature and a whole lot of love to give.
Howard can be a little nervous when meeting new people or settling into an unfamiliar space, but give him a little time and you'll discover a wonderfully affectionate, curious and playful companion.
At first, he's happy to take things at his own pace, having a little explore or finding a sunny spot by the window to relax. But once Howard feels comfortable with you, his loving personality really comes alive.
And when Howard decides it's cuddle time, you'll know about it.
He'll come looking for pats, nuzzles and kisses, happily presenting his head, neck, back and belly for a thorough scratching session. He's the sort of boy who makes you feel very loved, and if a lap is available, you might as well consider it occupied.
One of his most endearing habits is wrapping his little arms around your neck when he settles in for a cuddle. It's hard not to melt when a cat makes it so obvious that he wants to be close to you.
Despite his affectionate side, Howard isn't demanding around the clock. He enjoys his independence, a bit of exploring and some quiet time in the sunshine. He's also playful, likes his toys and appreciates a relaxed lifestyle.
He's a lovely companion to other cats, too, and seems to have plenty of love to share with the animals and people around him. He's fond of his food without being overly obsessed with it, so mealtimes are enjoyable without being the main event of his day.
And then there's his face. Howard's distinctive markings give him an extra dose of character, making an already very handsome fellow even more endearing.
Howard is a lovely combination of gentle, playful and affectionate. He may need a little patience at the beginning, but once you've earned his trust, you're rewarded with a whole lot of love.
If you're looking for a companion who'll happily enjoy a quiet afternoon beside you before climbing into your lap for a serious cuddle session, Howard might be your perfect match.

MY IDEAL HOME: I'd love a relaxed, loving home where I can settle in at my own pace and get to know my new people.
I can be a little nervous when everything is unfamiliar, so a patient family who gives me time to build confidence would be wonderful.
Once I feel safe, though, I'm a very affectionate boy who loves being close to my humans.
I'd be happiest somewhere with regular companionship, whether that's people who spend time with me or a friendly animal companion. I enjoy having a little time to myself, too, so the perfect home for me would offer a nice balance of company, playtime and peaceful naps.
A sunny window, some toys and a comfortable lap would go a long way towards making me feel at home.
I'm a pretty easygoing fellow who has plenty of love to give. I just need the chance to show you.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Low to moderate energy.
I enjoy exploring my surroundings and having a play with my toys, but I'm also very happy relaxing in a sunny spot.
Once I'm comfortable, affection becomes one of my favourite activities. I'm a laid-back boy who enjoys a relaxed pace of life, with regular opportunities to play and plenty of time for cuddles.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I haven't been tested around children, so my suitability is not yet known. However, my general demeanour is encouraging for time with older children who have patience to also give me the space to settle in.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I get along very well with other cats. I enjoy their company and have a loving, playful nature. My forever home should have a resident cat to help me feel comfortable. I have spent the past few weeks with my feline friend, Solitaire https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/1218865 . He and I get along really well together and could adopted as a pair!
I haven't been tested around dogs, so my suitability is not yet known.
Medical notes
Howard has had a recent dental scale and clean. He has had his bottom teeth removed due to dental disease, but that doesn't stop him from loving life and eating food normally.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
