At an age when he should be enjoying a warm bed and a familiar person, this little man is waiting in a shelter after his owner could no longer care for him. 💔

Affectionately known as Buddy, he has been finding shelter life stressful. After having his severely matted coat groomed, he began approaching staff, accepting treats and showing more confidence. ❤️

Mac Pac needs patient carers who will let him settle at his own pace. He can be frightened by unfamiliar people and handling and may snap if pushed, so gentle handling and respecting his boundaries are essential.

🏡 His home requirements:

• Single-dog household — he must be your only dog.
• No young children.
• A calm environment with patient, understanding carers.
• Cats are untested.
• Foster homes must be in Victoria.

🩺 He also has medical needs, including significant dental disease requiring further treatment, a hind-leg lump with inconclusive testing, abnormal liver blood results needing follow-up, mild slipping kneecaps, and recent poor appetite and kennel cough signs. He will also need regular grooming.

His medical plan and clearance need to be confirmed with the shelter, and his known care needs will be discussed with suitable applicants.
