Meet Bowie! 🐾

Bowie is a gorgeous 2-year-old Bull Arab with a beautiful temperament and a heart of gold. She’s mostly a champion couch potato, but like any young dog, she has bursts of energy and enthusiasm! Because she’s a big girl who sometimes forgets just how big she is, Bowie would be best suited to a home with older children.

She currently lives in foster care with children aged 4 and 8 and is gentle and affectionate with them, but close supervision is important to keep everyone safe when Bowie gets excited.

Bowie is incredibly clever and very food motivated, which makes her an absolute star when it comes to training. She already knows sit, drop, come and on your bed, and she’s currently working on stay and drop it.

Her ideal family will be committed to daily walks, ongoing positive training and plenty of enrichment to keep that clever brain busy. Bowie can happily spend some time home alone, but if she gets bored she may find her own entertainment — and her interior-design choices aren't always appreciated! A canine companion could be a wonderful bonus for her.

Bowie LOVES other dogs. Her enthusiasm can sometimes get the better of her when she spots one on a walk, and she may bark with excitement, which can be a little overwhelming for the dog she’s hoping to befriend. Once the initial excitement and sniffing are over, though, she’s very happy to relax and hang out with her new buddy. Calm manners around other dogs on walks are still a work in progress.

She generally walks well on lead, but she is a strong dog, so Bowie needs someone physically capable of managing her when something particularly exciting catches her attention.

Bowie currently lives with a cat and is learning that feline housemates aren't there for chasing or pestering. She could potentially live with a cat following slow, careful and well-managed introductions.

Her favourite things include car rides, peanut butter, walkies and, most importantly, snuggling up with her humans on the couch at the end of the day.

Bowie is smart, affectionate, goofy and full of potential. With a family willing to continue her training and give her the stimulation, exercise and love she deserves, this beautiful girl is going to make an incredible companion.

Now she just needs to find the family who’ll love her as much as she’ll love them. ❤️
