Charlie is everything you could wish for in a young puppy—clever, affectionate, playful and completely devoted to his people. After being surrendered when his previous owner could no longer care for him, Charlie has embraced his second chance with a wagging tail and an open heart. He's currently thriving in foster care and is now looking for a forever family to share life's adventures with.
Charlie absolutely loves being around people. Whether he's following you from room to room, curling up for cuddles or joining you on a walk, he simply wants to be part of the family.
He has settled beautifully with other dogs and has even been gentle and respectful with two much smaller dachshunds. He loves to play, enjoys a good game of chase and would happily have a canine companion.
Being a Kelpie Cross, Charlie is incredibly intelligent and eager to learn. He's already mastered his name, is learning basic commands and absolutely loves food, making training fun, rewarding and highly effective. He enjoys enrichment toys, food puzzles and is settling into crate training beautifully.
Like all puppies, Charlie is still learning about the world. He'll need a family committed to continuing his toilet training, teaching him good manners and giving him the guidance every young dog deserves. In return, he'll reward you with endless love, unwavering loyalty and a lifetime of companionship.
Important Information:
Charlie is currently too young to be desexed, and our attending veterinarian has recommended delaying the procedure until he is older to support his healthy growth and development.
As a condition of adoption, the successful adopter will be required to sign Northern Rivers Hoof & Hound's Delayed Desexing Agreement and arrange for Charlie to be desexed at the age recommended by the veterinarian. A refundable desexing bond applies and will be returned upon receipt of the veterinary desexing certificate.

Hoof & Hound Adoption Process:
Initial Enquiry – Prospective adopters submit an application via our website or email, providing information about their household, lifestyle, and experience with pets.
Screening & Interview – We review applications and conduct a phone or in-person interview to ensure a suitable match for the animal’s needs.
Home Check – For dogs and larger animals, a home visit is conducted to ensure the environment is safe, secure, and suitable.
Meet & Greet – The adopter meets the animal at our shelter/foster home to assess compatibility.
Adoption Agreement – Successful adopters sign an adoption contract outlining care requirements and follow-up support.
Follow-Up & Support – We provide ongoing guidance and support to ensure a smooth transition and successful long-term placement.
