💙🐾 MEET VICEROY AKA BODHI 🐾💙

Bodhi is a handsome 11-month-old Labrador x Staffy with an enormous personality and an even bigger zest for life!

This joyful boy absolutely LOVES everything—and we mean everything! Walks, balls, stuffed toys, rope toys, the hose, car rides, cuddles, children, other dogs, his harness, the vet and even having his cone put on. 😂 Most of all, Bodhi loves food, making him highly motivated and eager to learn.

Bodhi previously lived with a family who clearly loved him dearly. He came into care happy, healthy, confident and comfortable in almost every situation. He is a friendly, curious and affectionate young dog who throws his whole heart into everything he does.

💙 Approximately 11 months old
💙 Believed to be a Labrador x Staffy
💙 Friendly, affectionate and full of personality
💙 Loves people, children and other dogs
💙 Currently living alongside cats
💙 Enjoys car rides and active adventures
💙 Walks well on lead in most situations
💙 Food motivated and responsive to training
💙 Loves cuddling on the couch or bed when invited
💙 Happily relaxes in his own bed indoors

Bodhi already knows an impressive range of commands, including sit, stay, shake, drop, outside, inside, walk and bed. He responds well to firm, calm and consistent direction—especially when his puppy excitement gets the better of him!

He currently adores his German Shepherd foster brother, and the pair enjoy energetic games of chasey, wrestling and tug-of-war. Bodhi can sometimes forget when playtime is over, but he responds well when his older foster brother tells him it is time to settle.

When Bodhi spots another dog while out walking, he may pull strongly because he desperately wants to rush over, say hello and make a new friend. Continued lead training will help him learn that not every dog is available for an immediate friendship interview! 😂

Bodhi is also living with cats. He is curious and would love them to play with him, but he has not shown aggression and will back away when they hiss or establish their boundaries. Any feline friends would need to be confident and introduced appropriately.

Like many young dogs, Bodhi can become mischievous when bored. Garden hoses and door mats may occasionally be mistaken for toys! He will need plenty of exercise, enrichment, appropriate toys and ongoing training to keep his clever puppy brain busy.

🏡 BODHI’S IDEAL HOME:

Bodhi would thrive with an active family who can match his enthusiasm for life while continuing his training and helping him mature into the wonderful adult dog he is destined to become.

He would especially love a home with a playful, well-balanced older large-breed dog who can enjoy his energetic play style and gently teach him when it is time to settle. He could also enjoy living with older, dog-savvy children who are comfortable around a boisterous and bouncy young dog.

After a day filled with games, walks and adventures, Bodhi will be more than ready to curl up beside his family for a well-earned cuddle.

Bodhi is a gloriously goofy, affectionate and enthusiastic young boy who approaches every day like it is the greatest day of his life. He is looking for a family who will embrace his joyful spirit, continue guiding him and love him just as wholeheartedly as he loves the world. 💙🐾
