About Elio
Elio is a desexed male Domestic Short Hair available for adoption in Ellalong (Hunter Valley, NSW).
Elio is the kind of cat who makes a house feel like home. Friendly, affectionate, and genuinely people-focused, this lovely domestic short hair has a gift for finding the warmest spot in the room — and making sure it's next to you.
He's not complicated. He knows what he likes, and what he likes is you.
Whether it's a quiet afternoon at home or a slow morning in bed, Elio is at his best when he's close to his people. He's active enough to keep you entertained and settled enough to let you breathe.
A little about Elio:
🐾 A certified lap cat — given the choice, he will always choose to be on or beside you
🐾 Shows affection through head butts — his version of a very enthusiastic hello
🐾 Loves sunbaking and will seek out every patch of warmth the house has to offer
🐾 Playful and active with a quirky tail that has a personality all of its own
🐾 Does best as the only pet in a calm, indoor home
Elio's days follow a rhythm he's clearly made peace with — eat, sleep, play, repeat, with plenty of pats woven in between. He'll find his sunny spot in the morning, work in a solid nap or two, and come alive for play sessions that are genuinely fun to watch. His tail alone is worth the price of admission.
He's the first to greet you when you come home. Not loudly — just present, and quietly pleased you're back. That's Elio.
With new people, Elio takes a moment to weigh up who you are — and once he's decided you're worth knowing, he makes it clear. Most people find he's closer than expected within the first visit.
Elio will flourish in a calm, indoor home where he's the centre of attention. He suits an adult-only household with someone around reasonably often — he enjoys that easy, companionable presence that makes everyday life a little better.
He does best without other animals. Elio is a people cat through and through, and a home where he can be the one and only pet is where he'll be most settled and most himself.
Elio is on a specialised urinary care diet, which is a straightforward part of his daily routine. His guardian will receive full dietary details at the time of adoption.
Picture this: a Sunday morning with sunlight across the bed, a warm weight settling in beside you, and a head butt that says good morning better than words. That's life with Elio — unhurried, loyal, and quietly wonderful.
The person Elio is waiting for values a cat who genuinely wants to be with them — present, affectionate, and easy to love. That's him, every day.

He loves company and connection, but he's not high-maintenance about it. He's happy to nap the day away as long as there are pats and lap time built into the routine.
What's this about a special diet?
Elio is on a specialised urinary care diet as part of keeping him healthy and stable. It's a simple part of his daily care — full details will be provided at adoption.
Is Elio suited to a quiet home?
He's a great fit for a calm household — he's relaxed and easy-going by nature, and a settled environment brings out the best in him.
How long does it take for Elio to warm up to new people?
Elio likes to take a moment before he commits — but with a calm approach, he tends to come around quickly, and will happily accept a pat before the visit is over.
Medical notes
Elio is in good general health; he has previously had surgery to address urinary crystals. He is fully recovered, and with the support of a specialised urinary care food, he has been stable and comfortable ever since.
His guardian can provide all the information required to ensure his new family can continue caring for him seamlessly.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
