About Billy
Billy is a desexed male Domestic Shorthair available for adoption in Wyndham Vale (Melbourne, VIC).
Pick Billy up, and he immediately goes boneless. Full dead weight, completely relaxed, absolutely delighted. It is a very specific kind of trust, and it is impossible not to love.
He is a bold, affectionate cat who treats everyone he meets like a long-lost friend. New people, familiar people, anyone who walks through the door: Billy is already on his way over.
He brings a lot of energy and a lot of warmth to a home. Life with Billy is genuinely fun.
A little about Billy:
🐾 Confident, friendly and immediately comfortable with new people
🐾 Loves being picked up and goes completely limp, like a very enthusiastic rag doll
🐾 Playful and mischievous, with a particular habit of launching surprise ambushes around corners
🐾 Affectionate: a loud purrer who loves to rub, lick hands and settle in for cuddles
🐾 Best suited to an indoor home with feline company
Billy's days are full and joyful. He plays hard, sleeps deeply, and fits in as much mischief as possible in between.
His mischief is mostly corner-based: he will be waiting, he will launch, and he will be very pleased with himself every single time.
He also has a genuinely impressive tail now. Big, full and dramatically fluffy. It arrived recently, and he carries it with complete confidence.
His favourite things include food, a good string toy, licking people's hands with enormous enthusiasm, and being carried around the house at every opportunity. He knows what he likes and makes no secret of it. It is genuinely endearing.
Billy shows affection loudly and physically. He purrs like a motor, rubs against anyone nearby and settles in for cuddles on his own terms.
During play, he has a sweet habit of gently nibbling people's nails: harmless, endearing, and very Billy.
With new people, there is no hesitation. Billy is immediately and genuinely friendly, no settling-in period required.
Billy grew up alongside other cats and would do best with feline company in his new home. His brother, Oro, is also looking for a home and can be adopted separately or with him.
Billy suits a wide range of households: active families, homes with children, younger guardians, and older guardians. He is adaptable, easy-going and entirely uncomplicated.
Picture this: you turn a corner, and Billy explodes out of nowhere, looks enormously pleased with himself, and immediately wants to be picked up and carried. That is a Tuesday with Billy.
He is ready to fill your home with noise, warmth and the occasional (highly friendly) ambush. Say yes.
💛 Billy is part of a little family. His mum June-bug has recently found a loving home, but his brother Oro is also looking for a home and can be adopted separately or together. You can find his profile here

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
