Oatmeal Cookies

We urgently need a foster or foster to adopt home for Oatmeal Cookies, affectionately known as Max.

Max is a 4-year-old purebred blue American Staffy with pedigree papers and is fully vetted. Sadly, after careful consideration, his current setup isn’t the right environment for him to decompress, and we are now looking for a more suitable home where he can truly thrive.

Max would do best in a home with a large, secure backyard where he can run, roam, and burn off energy. He can become overstimulated by noise, and in a smaller environment this has made it difficult for him to settle and relax. In the right setting, with space and a calmer environment, we believe he will decompress much more easily.

He is a very people-focused dog who wants to be close to his humans and currently suffers from separation anxiety, becoming unsettled when he cannot see them. Because of this, he would benefit from a home where someone is around more often to help build his confidence, routine, and independence over time.

Max is dog selective and would be best suited to a home with no other dogs so he can fully decompress and be set up for success. He is not suitable for homes with cats or livestock.

He can be unsure of strangers entering the home and may bark when people arrive, so he will need a calm, confident owner who can provide reassurance and guidance in these moments.

When Max is relaxed and not overstimulated, he is a truly beautiful dog who is eager to please and very trainable. He is highly food motivated, which makes training much easier, and he is already toilet trained, taking himself outside with no accidents indoors.

Max is a strong boy and does not do well being confined, so he will need a home that understands his needs and can provide the space, patience, and structure to help him succeed.

In the right environment, Max has all the potential to become a loyal, loving member of the family 💙
