Meet Oatmeal Cookies aka Max… a 4-year-old purebred blue American Staffy with pedigree papers and a heart that just wants to belong. 🐾💙

Max is the ultimate people dog — if you’re there, that’s where he wants to be. Whether it’s stretched out beside you on the couch or snoozing peacefully in his bed, he’s a certified serial chiller at home. He absolutely thrives on human connection and will happily soak up all the pats and attention from anyone willing to give them.

He knows his basics (sit, drop, stay) and is eager to please, especially when there’s a tasty reward involved. This makes him a lovely dog to continue training with — he just needs someone consistent to guide him.

Max does experience some separation anxiety when left alone, typically lasting around 20 minutes before he settles himself and retreats to his bed. Because of this, he would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not.

He would suit a calmer, more relaxed home environment. While he enjoys his walks and little bursts of energy, he’s not a high-demand, go-go-go type of dog. There are some early signs of stiffness in his back end (possibly hip-related), so a home that’s mindful of this and keeps things low-impact would be ideal for his long-term comfort.

Max is not suitable with cats and is dog selective, meaning he can go from 0–100 quickly with other dogs. For this reason, he must be the only pet in the home, where he can truly relax and feel secure.

He is good with kids, however due to being a bit mouthy when excited, he would be best suited to a home with older, dog-savvy children who can confidently manage and redirect him.

Max would thrive with an experienced owner, ideally someone familiar with the breed, who can provide structure, patience, and ongoing guidance.
