About Lambert
Meet Lambert š¤š¾ (D250652)
Lambert is a sweet 2-year-old male Maltese Shih Tzu with a gentle heart and a charming personality. Heās a loving little dog who enjoys being part of the action and isnāt shy about using his voice to let you know whatās going on!
Lambert generally gets along well with other dogs, though he can feel a bit intimidated at times, so slow and calm introductions are important to help him feel secure. With close supervision and guidance, he may also be suitable to live with cats. He may be appropriate for a home with children, particularly those who can be gentle, calm, and respectful.
Veterinary note:
On examination, Lambert was observed to have a bilateral carpal valgus deformity, more pronounced in the right forelimb. This means that both of his front wrist's angle outward rather than being straight and evenly weight-bearing. At this stage, no radiographs (X-rays) or further diagnostic testing have been performed, so the underlying cause and severity are not yet known.
Possible causes may include developmental or growth-related changes, previous injury or trauma, nutritional imbalance during growth, breed or genetic factors, or uneven bone growth. Some dogs live comfortably with mild limb alignment changes, while in other cases this condition may contribute over time to altered gait, increased strain on joints, reduced exercise tolerance, lameness, or early joint wear (arthritis), particularly as the dog ages or with higher activity levels.
Lambert is otherwise clinically well and is considered suitable for rehoming. By adopting Lambert, you acknowledge that further veterinary follow-up, diagnostic testing, or treatment may be required in the future, and ongoing monitoring of his comfort and mobility will be important.
Lambert is looking for a patient, loving home where he can feel safe, supported, and cherished. In return, heāll offer loyalty, affection, and plenty of personality š¶š
