About Leo
Meet Leo 🖤 (D250613)
Leo is a stunning 3-year-old male tri-merle Border Collie with energy to spare and a big personality to match. This clever boy is super active, playful, and very obedient. He thrives on having a job to do and absolutely lives for ball games, footballs are his favourite! Once playtime starts, Leo will happily remind you (with an enthusiastic bark) that it’s time to throw it again.
Leo is a bouncy, high-energy lad and would be best suited to a home without young children. He can be a little timid when first meeting other dogs, but once he feels comfortable, he settles well. Leo is not suitable for a home with cats, as he may chase.
Veterinary note:
On examination, Leo was observed to have crusting and colour loss (depigmentation) of the nose, meaning the surface appears dry, scabby, and lighter in colour than normal. At this stage, no further diagnostic testing has been performed, so the exact cause is unknown. Possible causes may include sun-related skin damage, immune-mediated conditions, contact irritation or allergy, infection, or previous trauma to the nose.
Leo is otherwise clinically well and is considered suitable for rehoming. Some causes of nasal crusting and depigmentation are mild and easily managed, while others may require further investigation or ongoing care in the future. Due to the reduced pigment on his nose, it is more prone to sun damage. His vet has advised daily sunscreen application and ongoing monitoring. Leo will be adopted with the sunscreen currently used for him (Filta-Bac), and adopters must be comfortable managing and monitoring this condition.
By adopting Leo, you acknowledge that further veterinary investigation or treatment may be required in the future.
Leo is looking for an active, committed home where he can burn energy, play fetch to his heart’s content, and continue being the smart, fun-loving companion he is. If you’re after a loyal best mate who lives for playtime, Leo might be your perfect match 🐕⚽💛
