Uncle Fester

Meet Uncle Fester, affectionately known as Ducky — a 1-year-old Catahoula mix sweetheart with a soft, gentle soul. This boy has already overcome more than most pups should ever have to, and while his start to life has been tough, his heart is still wide open and ready to love. 🥹🐾

Because of his past, Ducky can be timid at first, especially around men. He needs time, patience, and kindness to feel safe. But once he realises you’re his person, he blossoms into the sweetest little shadow, eager for gentle pats, cuddles, and tasty treats. There’s something incredibly special about earning his trust — once you do, it’s a bond that runs deep.

Ducky is wonderfully dog friendly and finds comfort and confidence from other dogs. He adores playing chasey with his foster sister, zooming around the yard with joy. A friendly dog in his new home would be a huge bonus, helping him feel secure and bringing out his playful side.

He’s a smart boy too — toilet trained (after a couple of early accidents), sleeps soundly through the night in the lounge, and walks beautifully on lead. He’s got excellent recall, sits on command, and absolutely loves his daily walks. Like many young dogs, he’s still learning a few polite manners — particularly when it comes to resisting the temptation of the shoe rack 👟 — but with gentle guidance, he’s quick to learn.

Ducky would thrive in a calm and stable home where someone is around most of the time. He doesn’t like being left alone for long periods, and loud or unpredictable environments can make him nervous. He’s not destructive — just a sensitive soul who wants reassurance.

He’s untested with cats, but early signs have been positive when seeing them through a glass door. Ducky would be best suited to a home with older children who understand his shy nature and can give him the space and patience he needs.

Ducky may not be the dog who bounds up to you right away — but give him time, and you’ll discover one of the most loyal, loving, and gentle companions you could ever ask for. 🖤
